thanks for all your healing vibes. Pleased to report progress; he is now off the ventilator, off oxygen mask and this evening was moved to high dependency unit which is progress from intensive care. My brother and I were moved to tears this morning when OH, who could barely speak having just had the ventilation tube removed, gestured that he wanted a pen and paper. On it he shakily wrote " How can I complain" with an arrow pointing to the patient opposite him who looked barely alive. He had tears in his eyes. How can I deserve such a lovely man?Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0

Morning flyladies, another rough night but not because of LittleyDog (she was much improved if not perfect). I seem to have come down with the lurgy. Someone has compressed my chest, my throat hurts blah blah blah.
Can I just go back to bed please?
Oh and have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Narco, it is obvious that you and your OH fully deserve each other
Sounds like he's making good progress - like flying, baby steps result in long term improvement. Healing vibes for him and supporting vibes for you continue.
DH finally got our tree up late last night. It's only got coloured lights and candle lights on it at present, but still looks lovely.
I managed to clean through the whole house yesterday (it's only small!) while DH was out of my way and even tidied my study. All the washing is up to date, yesterday's ironing consisted of (i) hanging one of DH's soft shirts on a hanger to finish drying in front of the bathroom radiator and (ii) pulling a tea towel into shape while it was still slightly damp, folding it and draping it over the kitchen radiator to finish drying and set the folds, and the ironing basket is empty :rotfl: Apart from keeping on top of the washing and the dailies, dusting and a bit of hoovering (and maybe polishing the odd window, weather permitting), that's it until the new year :rotfl:
There are still a few cards to deliver by hand, baubles to go on the tree, some sewing to be done, presents to wrap, candles and other Christmas ornaments to be brought out, greenery to find, a string of lights to put up in the kitchen and another in the DR, and - this year for the first time - solar-powered lights across the rose arches in the front garden. I also need to buy a turkey and make some cakes for the family. But thanks to the inspiring posts from you, FlyFriends, I'm way ahead of my usual Christmas Eve panic :T:T:T
Today we are going to plant DGD2's horse chestnut tree in their field and have an early light lunch with the family, then we shall eat an afternoon meal at home before we head off to the great metropolis for a concert this evening at the town hall, which I've been looking forward to for weeks. I am now officially in a Christmassy mood :xmassmile
GWS vibes to Jazee. Hope everyone else has a great day x0 -

Sometimes I'm fine with this and other times I find it harder (this is one of those times) still DS2 has finished uni so will be around all the time so can help out.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Hello again, I had a lie down for 20 minutes while the Yorkshire puds were cooking, have dosed up and don't feel quite as bad now. Have also had a cuppa and some toast. But if I do just feel like lying down again, I will and try not to feel guilty about the flying not getting done.
I am a little stressed out at the moment. After the trauma of events my DS and his fiancee suffered 18 months ago, it is finally time for the inquest this Wednesday. We're going with them but I don't know what to expect and worry that they won't get the verdict they're hoping for.
Anyway, think I will wash up the breakfast dishes now and maybe have a relaxing soak in the bath, I definitely won't be going in the gym today.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Same from me too. xx
Can't get used to doing multiple quotes like LW does - a skill for next year!
Have been up a while and done a grand tidy round. We decided to have a coffee out after checking the local butchers yesterday, then spent the afternoon decluttering programmes that we had recorded - to leave space for Xmas ones! I also decluttered several hours sleep - not used to partying!
Today is catch up day. The washer will be on all day and I am about to sort the finances!!! AAAgh!
Later we are going to walk to hand deliver the rest of our cards.
Do you mums of littlies know that the international space station is due to be visible on Xmas Eve? See below:
For the attention of all PARENTS of young children: On 24th December at just bef...ore 6pm, the International Space Station will make a pass over the UK, lasting for about 3 minutes. Clouds allowing, the pass will be bright and clear.
For the attention of all young CHILDREN: On 24th December at just before 6pm you will be able to see Santa's sleigh flying through the sky.
Please share this status and spread a little magic x
Has been brought to our attention that different areas have different times so please visit the official site for your area.

If I achieve all I set out to do that today that is me finished for Xmas, apart from buying two lots of meat and usual fruit veggies etc. Also have to make mince pies for charity shop Thursday and for us - but that is easy.
Have a great day everyone. xJuly 16 £95/£200

Bathroom Done!
DS2 decluttered to work (he got a transfer back from his uni town) then I wandered around town, and did a little bit of shopping.
Laundry seems to be the theme for the weekend. Am pretty sure that DS2 has washed nothing since September.
Chilly, but lovely bright sunshine here.
Narc0lepsy That was a lovely post, continuing to send healing thoughts.
