My OH is in hospital in intensive care

Not at all patronising, I maybe older than you but not at all wiser:rotfl: just trying to plod along in the right direction, one day at a time:)
And that's the wisest of all ways to deal with it!
I'm enjoying a rare moment of quiet on shift at the vets' - been MAD this evening. Just had a dog in who had eaten a 400g luxury Christmas Pudding - it wasn't pleasant. _pale_ All empty and well again now; hey-ho! The dog had the nerve to look annoyed at us as well!
Keep smiling Victory; festive good wishes to you (and everyone else here in "Victory's Venting Chamber").xx

Thank you, I think I am tricking myself the days/weeks away, I see the slightest tiniest improvement, like he will move his fingers without yelping in pain and I am off, yep this is the start, yep this is going in the right direction and then the next day he will get up, white as a sheet, unable to move, having had less than an hour sleep all night, with me up and down watching him and trying to settle him and feel oh here goes we are going backwards, today he is not so good he looks and feels awful, one of his friends came round yesterday and took a step back when he saw him, he quickly recovered and chatted away but that is how people react.
Back and forwards, back and forwards:)
It sounds daft but it is very early days, apologies if u have said already but use a notebook as a diary and and achievements etc jot them down, then in time to come your realise it was a clog in the system.
I think people dont always know how to react, even when you say its a long road, they still dont realise until they come face to face, i think in a hospital environment the other patients / surroundings the illness gets forgot but in a home environment it hits hard, I know when our nice neighbours first saw dad the girl ended up having to leave to compose, it was shock.
xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Victory hopefully the tweaked meds helped a little you sound a lot brighter which is great.

Hi Victory - hope OH is improving every day! and that you are looking after yourself too!
You have been in my thoughts over the Christmas holidays. I've not been too well - hence the absence of my usual amount of posts! but, every time I felt sorry for myself, I thought of you and immediately counted my blessings!
Hope you have been able to sort out enough help over this period, I really cant believe your OH was sent home so soon and in such a state.............but, that's the modern NHS for you. the care is supposed to be available in the community, but accessing it is a challenge at the best of times, so I hope its falling into place for you now.
Sending healing thoughts and my best wishes
