I bought a 6 month old Mondeo 1.8 TD (93 L) with 30k on the clock and run it to from work for many years up to about 180k when I stupidly crunched it into the rear of another motor.. My Fault completely.
I was gutted and really hoped they wouldn't write it off but damage / value / age / miles didn't add up...ORIGINAL MORTGAGE AMOUNT £106,454.00 (Started Sept 2007)

I had a 1995 N plate Mondeo with 200,000-miles on the clock. I only had it for about 3 or 4 months before moving it on but it still had life left in it. It was a 2-litre petrol....when Zetec was an engine, not a trim level....
Wife now has a 2l petrol auto Mk3 (so sadly Duratec) on 148k and going strong. After a recent wheel bearing, driveshaft bearing, and rear shocks it's driving very nicely too - much better than you'd expect from 16 years and those miles.
Not a huge Ford fan but have to hand it to them with this one.0 -
Just bought a SAAB 9-3 1.9 TID 56 plate to replace my Ford Fiesta ST. I has 124k on i've put a couple of hundred miles on it. And the turbo has blown. Should have kept the fiesta! :rotfl:0

My VW is still going strong, long may it continue.
Coming up on 222,000.0 -
My September 2002 Honda CR-V is on 150,000 (unbreakable that car, touch wood).
My December 1999 Mercedes SLK Kompressor 2.3 is on 95,000 miles.
Two of the best made cars ever in my opinion.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

There was a Wheeler Dealers special on the supercharged SLK which showed how to fix some of the common issues.
You CR-V is too old to be a diesel I think, in which case it will likely outlive many much younger vehicles.
It takes a lot of neglect to kill a petrol CR-V, it is possible though as my brother in law bought a wrong un, despite its many problems it never actually stopped going and never left him stranded.
Have heard some stories from Zimbabwe that the roads destroy the chassis, cracks appearing on the chassis legs apparently. Though I suspect that is abuse/neglect related, or they have been used in an overloaded state.0 -

Oh! I wish I had seen that! It will no doubt come around again. I have found MBClub (a web forum not actually associated with MB) to be extremely helpful and jolly nice to me, given I'm female and know very little about cars, except that I like mine.

Yes, she's a petrol, and I've had her all but 18 months of her life. She owes me nothing, I owe her quite a bit in terms of TLC. And although the roads around here are nothing to shout about they are nothing like some in Africa. I recall that outside Jozi it seemed that the government considered it cheaper to put up a sign saying "Potholes next 15km" rather than fill them in, lol!
Both exceptionally good cars, both in terms of build quality and design, I reckon.

Thank you so much bigjl!!!! I've found it on You Tube! This is brilliant, I'm learning so much. I will be very interested to see what they eventually sell this car for.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Currently on 165k (MG ZTT), 141k (MG ZT) and 178k (Rover 75) - all diesels.
First two are automatic, and the 75 is manual - still on the first clutch.
Of course I've not owned them all their whole lives, but have a fair chunk of history for all 3 and they seem to have been relatively well behaved. Main issues have been sensors and ancillaries on the engine (BMW M47).
Bodywork still excellent, shame they didn't galvanise their smaller cars too!0
