I mis-calculated what payments had already been made against debts when I first updated my total to clear, so it should actually be £3,587.86 debt to clear and then a further £5,000 to save towards the wedding....ouch!

I want the debt completely gone by May at the latest which means nearly £720 a month to find. It may just be the huge amounts of turkey in my system, but I think that might actually be doable if I stop spending money on pointless things and sell some of the stuff I have lying around!

Have a look on the old style money saving section on the forums and there is a challenge for saying goodbye to consumerism, which helps stop spending on pointless things!!!

Good luck with the wedding saving x:)

  • Can i join you please? I want to clear a credit card, £3217.95
I have two credit cards and only took this one out to get the benefits  i had set it up to pay off monthly, but changed it and now its huge!!
Still here..... but working on that!
  • Can I join this too please. I have a credit card of £2800 to pay off and an overdraft of £1000. Even if I just pay off my credit card I will feel better. So my goal is to pay off cc and as much of overdaft by the end of 2015.
I'm ttying to save a little too but cc and overdraft are more important at the moment.
Too much money owed, trying to pay it off one paycheck at a time

  • Hi, I would like to join please. Accurate figures will be tallied this weekend (if not sooner). 2015 is going to be the year that I tidy up a few debts.
Good luck to everyone, I am preparing for a bumpy ride.

    Elated! :T
I went into the bank to get an outstanding balance on an unused account with an overdraft. I thought it was going to be about £350. It is £127.21
This is what I am going to tackle first. It might not sound much, but it needs to go. Baby steps.
I will then formulate a plan to blitz the 2 biggies. They have got to go within the next 12 months.
Reading the comments on here has really inspired me, thank you all.
