  • I think I'm gonna have to rethink my target for this. My favourite band are touring the UK in March/April for the first time in 9 years and I'm going to all the dates, and then going to New York to see them a week later (I am a little bit obsessed. :p ). I'm also going to Download festival but not camping so spending £200 on a hotel, and possibly going to another festival too but am waiting for some lineup announcements for that one before I decide. So there's not gonna be as much money going towards the debt as I would have liked. But this is probably the last time for a long time where I will have the time and (sort of) the money to be able to do these things. I'm hopefully gonna be doing an OU course full time starting in October and then am gonna try and use that to get into uni, so if that all works then I'll be 32 by the time I can do these things again. I figure I'm only 26 once, so why not!? Hahah.

  • hello Everyone,

Im new to the forums as of today and think id like to join the challenge if possible?

I owe family money due to Student Finance not being able to do there job properly whilst i was at university. I've now graduated and currently have a job on maternity contract but hope to get something more permanent n 2015 :)

If i could set my target at £2000 by the end of the year for now please? i may extent it a little if i manage to get a permanent position

Also, this may be a silly question because I'm new, so apologies in advance, but could anyone tell me how i add challenges to my signature please?

    Thanks, Sophie

    Hello

    Please can I join?

    I have 5 debts
Car loan approx. £8k - £160 per month
Barclaycard approx. £8k - £160 per month min payment
MBNA 1 £2500 approx. £25 per month min payment
MBNA 1 £4000 approx. £40 per month min payment
Halifax £5k - approx. £50 per month min payment

So my challenge is to completely pay off the credit cards in bold while maintaining the min payment on the Barclaycard and the car loan. If I were to do it, that would be £15k in 2015, or £1250 a month. Its a tall order, but why not aim high?

Thanks and good luck to everyone else

  • I mis-calculated what payments had already been made against debts when I first updated my total to clear, so it should actually be £3,587.86 debt to clear and then a further £5,000 to save towards the wedding....ouch!

I want the debt completely gone by May at the latest which means nearly £720 a month to find. It may just be the huge amounts of turkey in my system, but I think that might actually be doable if I stop spending money on pointless things and sell some of the stuff I have lying around!
