• Morning all!

DF2012 could you add a second credit card for me please RBS 342.40? This is my own debt (not joint with OH) but I was looking at some of the other challenge threads and thought I would instead of trying to save a pound a day I would pay off a pound a day. So from December 14 - December 15 I will pay off my RBS card this way.
So each payday I will make a payment between £28-£31that will be that paid off and I can just pay it each month and kind of forget about it :D
• Also I think I might have to start doing the grocery challenge again and if I come under budget goes to pay debt.

Wow hi everyone :)

Lovely to see so many people ready to kick some debt to the curb in 2015. Personally, it can't come quick enough for me so having others in the same boat is a great support (is that selfish? lol).

I too am thinking about the grocery challenge again, I do it for a few months out of the year but I am determined to pay off more thn ever in 2015 and have had the same thoughts as you Highland Lass. I have a budget of £225 a month for groceries. Even if I come in £5 under I could sent that to the debt.

I'm also going to get back into my surverys, sadly I make more money there than eb@y!

January is all about planning and recouperating for me. Organising the year ahead, setting goals and targets and making a fresh start (finances, house, relationships). I don't mean anything needs fixing, I just like to take stock. :)
Debt - CCV £3792
CCB £1383 (took a hit for a holiday)

Loan 1 £1787
Loan 2 £1683

• I know that i said that i would prefer not to get a secon job but an opportunity has come up to get some hours cleaning which would give me about £300 a month extra......my dilema is that i work full time just now and the wee one is in nursery 3 days a week and with family 2 days. OH would be able to deal with her when i am away cleaning but am i being silly that i would miss out on time with her?

so my options are:

1. take the job and man up
2. take the job and see how it goes and if i want to give it up try not to beat myself up about it
3. dont take the job

I dont know what to do?!?!

Please can I join the party?! I'd like to pay off at least £5,000 of my debt.

Actually, in an ideal world I'd like to pay it all off(!) but I want to build up some savings at the same time. I'm also in the midst of renovating my house so money will be going in that direction rather than off the debts.

Maybe the renovations should wait until the debts are paid off but if I can get some more work progressed without adding more to the debts I'll be happy, as its pretty much the renovations (ok and maybe a *couple* of silly decisions :o) that lead to the debt in the first place.
Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)
• Hi everyone,

I've not been around for a while but since we've borrowed off the parents recently for home repairs/improvements we have a bit of debt which I'd like gone by xmas next year, so for me its £13,000 please!

HighlandLass, I'm going through the same thing at the minute! I've got a couple of rug-rats, 5 and 2 years old, and I've just today agreed to take on 12 hours of extra work a week. I struggled with the thought of missing out on time with my kids but I came to the decision that my children will be happier with parents who aren't constantly stressed out about money and can afford to buy them the odd ice cream without worrying about the budget :)

Although I may not be there with them quite as much, they will still be looked after by people who love them and it's only for the next year, which is nothing in the grand scheme of things. :)

D.
Parents - £4000/£0 paid
OH parents - £9000/£0 paid

Mortgage - £125,000/£0 overpayments

• Hi

I would like to join please. I have 2 cards and having just paid the amount due this month on the smaller one so in total I owe £7517. I would love to pay it all off in 2015 but to be realistic I think it would be an achievement if I paid off the smaller one, £2890, and moved the bigger one to another 0% rate when the current deal runs out this summer.
