Last year, we saw Backstreet Boys in Planet Hollywood which was a good show, so be handy to see what else is happening.. Last year, I found the deal on groupon! :D

$ is not great, but when 2 Ralph Lauren shirts for husband came to $35 I was not too fussed about the rate.

Checking out of Luxor in 2 hours, and it has been pretty decent. It is much better than MC (hated it), but not as good as Orleans (similar price point).

A good 48 hours, but jetlag and cold has really slowed us down. Nice to chill now, before a 2:35 flight.

Interesting to hear that the MonteCarlo wasn't great, I had been considering it as a budget option for my next trip and as my MGM property with PH being my Caesars part of the trip
  • I love MC casino (many a great night), but the room was more than just dated, it was very poor. The main issue was the noise level that can be heard, meaning a poor nights sleep. Better options available imo.

we had this issue as well at MC last trip - the room was fine with us, quite big and we would have been quite happy there for a few nights. It wasn't fancy, but it was perfectly OK in our opinion...Monaco Suite sounded more posh than it was, but we knew that in advance having looked around online...but the sound from the next room was horrendous. Part of it was connecting door, part of it was screeching teenage girls at 2am...but they may as well have been in the room with us.

We had a similar issue at Bally's though, but that was in the afternoon...early in the trip, when we were still struggling with whatever bug we had and sleeping a lot. The guy in the next room had no inside voice...and we could hear everything he said. Again, room with a connecting door didn't help. In that case we didn't feel like we could say anything, it was the middle of the afternoon. At MC I finally knocked loudly on the adjoining door and asked them if they could keep it down a bit. That worked, but it was astonishing just how loud it was.

I think the moral of the story is, try to avoid rooms with connecting doors if possible! :)

I should have added, we were happy enough with MC as a property, overall, for a mid-range sort of place we thought it was just fine...we like the dining options there...and the casino is OK, though we kind of felt like it was been there, done that a bit more quickly than a lot of other places. We would stay there again in the right circumstances. Our room was comped, though, and there are better places overall, but we wouldn't reject it as an option...but we did like the proximity of self-park to check-in and the room lifts. Unlike Mirage where we felt like we walked forever (and I know we could use valet, but the self-park garage and valet are about the same distance from check-in...the rooms are what's so far away at Mirage).
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

with regard to MC, i stay there now over ballys. I never take a room less than the monaco suite and always request close to the elevators and its always been quiet.

This time in a few weeks i am back there but am staying in the diamond suite just to get the 2 rooms.

I really enjoy the casino here although i always get killed at blackjack here but the slots are generally kinder
