    Hard to say...
Last year, I spent loads in MC casino, but then again, I had some good wins!
I spent about $50 in Luxor, and walked away with over $1k from Excalibur (from starting with like $50!)....

Yet my Mlife offers a few months ago, gave me 2 nights comp'd in Tower room in Luxor on a Friday/Sat night, and MC gave me 2 nights comp'd also....
The wife don't gamble as much as me, but her mlife offer was 1 night comp'd in luxor as long as she pays for 1 night at a 30% reduced rate....... she probably spent $50 in Luxor!

We stayed in Luxor the year before, but that was full comp (from a clerical error :D:D:D:D:D )
So really is hit and miss..... I hear of peeps getting offers from the nicer hotels, despite only spending 10 minutes at a table!
    Crazy stuff!

oh and dollar looking a bit better, hopefully on the climb now!

I've heard they use a very complicated formula to determine what to offer you. For instance, if Stuies $50 was spent quickly and then no further activity, it would mean more than spending it slowly in bits and pieces.

Also, MGM properties are all separate, each hotel spend is taken individually. Caesars, all activity is accumulative whatever hotel you spend your money in.

ok for your feedback.Im not sure what the formula is but im sure it ll be a long drawn out thing for us mug players!!

again StuieUK34 thanks for your detailed feedback,I would assume im near the bottom of the comps list.I recall seeing a programme with peirs morgan about the*whales*(high roller players) who think nothing of splashing like a million dollars over a weekend and they get loads of comps!!.
so on that basis i guess i ll need to save up !!:D
and thank you for the link !
  • 14 days to go :D

Can I just confirm it's only an esta that we need? And then I presume for the flight we just check in online and print boarding cards and tickets? (Virgin Atlantic) these two weeks can't come quick enough!

Best words of advice, don't chase the comps. Put your card in, play a bit, if it isn't going your way move on.
We never expect anything now, so sometimes don't even bother using our cards. You have more chance of getting credits playing MyVegas or using social rewards.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Has anyone stayed in the Flamingo Studio rooms? According to their website:

Measuring 550 square feet, these L-shaped non-smoking studio rooms include a combined living room and bedroom with one king bed. For those who want standard amenities with just a touch more space, these simple, classic Vegas rooms are ideal for your stay. Views include the hotel’s beautiful pool and garden

I am a bit worried that 'simple, classic' may = run down, old.

We are doing some research for October and assuming we will be looking for 2 rooms vs just one and trying to keep prices reasonable, so with the options we can see it will likely be Bally's but this intrigued me (it's quite a lot cheaper than a standard Bally's Indigo room which is part of what is making me nervous). I would be happy to try something new, and 550 sqft is quite a nice size. We don't need posh (we will probably move to Cosmo for the last 3 nights anyway), but we're a bit worried about committing to something relatively unknown when it is not just us.

I have tried to find photos or videos but struggling...I know they change their room names all the time - I can only find the one from the hotel's website which looks perfectly nice.

Agree...as a general rule, the more you play, the more comps are likely to come your way, obviously...but that doesn't mean only the high rollers will get them.

It's all relative...but ultimately play what you want to play without the expectation of comps...anything else becomes quite dangerous. :)

We are happy with the level of comps we receive for our budget...we look at our gambling budget as buying entertainment. We normally don't have to pay for hotels, but we also do normally stay where we can get free rooms (and sometimes it feels like we might rather try somewhere else, but hey, it's hard to turn down free and pay to stay somewhere else). We consider the free hotels a bonus. If the comped hotels went away, would we cut back on our trips? Possibly we would drop to once a year instead of twice, not sure.

Our win/loss statements will confirm that the comped hotels are not actually 'free' of course. :)

Ady87 - that is a great offer...they normally give us each 2 nights which we bolt together for 4...we're quite happy with that...we would probably be running around squealing if we got the same offer you did. :)

    Just the esta yes.

We generally check in online but don't bother printing anything, you still need to drop your bags off anyway so might as well get your boarding pass done at the desk when it's long haul. Sometimes you also need a print out of the booking email as well as your passports, so it might be useful to print that out, otherwise there aren't any tickets.

Just wanted to say this is a great thread and a huge thanks to everyone who contributes. All excited as heading over at the end of June for a 7 night stay in the Aria with my best friend to celebrate our 40th birthdays. :D

Have been on my vegas for a few days and hope to acrue enough loyalty points to get a couple of the smaller rewards before we go. Hoping to get the 2 for 1 tickets to zarkana but on the info it says details of how to redeem will be sent when you have placed your order. I assume I need to ring to book etc. Can anyone tell me if I will need to join mlife before we go to redeem the offer?

We originally wanted to see O at the Bellagio but its pretty pricey and can't figure out if the extra cost is worth it.

We are also thinking about going on a day tour to LA to do the touristy stuff like rodeo drive, walk of fame, hollywood sign etc. Has anyone done this? Any advice? I know its a crazy long day with a long drive each way (4 plus hours?) but we are a bit nutty & would like to do it as LA was going to be our original destination (until we sucumbed to the pull of vegas!). We have both been fortunate enough to visit the grand canyon previously so don't feel the need to go this trip.

Also liking the look of the mob museum and neon sign place as not been to those before.

Have absolutely loved reading everyones trip report too. Keep them coming!!

You do call to book the tickets and you do need an mlife number when you call to book.

We really disliked Zarkana, but part of that is because most of the acts were things we had seen before in other Cirque shows...I was so excited about it and so disappointed. O is my joint favourite with Love. I think it is beautiful.

You will be able to find someone who has exactly the opposite opinion as I do - loved Zarkana and didn't like O...it is such a relative thing.

I think part of the price of O tickets is because of the theatre itself and perhaps the number of people and divers needed to run the show.
