Would rather know the plane is safe than worry for 9 hours on way home!
When this happened to some friends of mine they were put up in the MGM and were given a free ticket anywhere on the Virgin network -can't remember if it was pre EC regs tho.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I've never known anywhere not to allow it...normally you can pay what you want with points and the balance another way.
Like you, I have talked about the Sterling Brunch so many times, but always talk myself out of it due to the cost and whether we would get enough out of it...neither of us are fussed about champagne, either...which cuts into the value for money for us. One day, I really would like to try it.
Also, I really like your means of justification...I have every intention of stealing that at some point each year from here on out.
Thanks for info re TR points
I like champagne but hubs isn't keen at all - but then it is my birthday present :rotfl: I can't quite believe we're actually going to go, will let you know what we think of it. Hubs isn't impressed very easily so he's probably quite a good indicator of whether it's really worth it. I shall be sloshed so my opinion won't be as reliable!"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

There is usually some July/August/September time that include Easter dates in my experience (we tend to have our big holiday during the Easter hols), if you are going in school holiday period you might find that flying on a day Sunday - Thursday works out a little cheaper than Friday or Saturday, if you can fly a day or 2 before schools break up you should (in theory) get a cheaper price too.
Thanks
Might look at a Thurs-Thurs week, coming back to the UK for the Easter weekend.0 -

Just out of interest, what sort of places have you been to at Easter? We like having a break at that time of year0 -

California/Vegas one year, New York, Boston, then our EASTA ran out so we went to France the next year, we went to Japan last year and VEgas this time. Hubby is a teacher so we are stuck with school holidays, which aren't the cheapest times, but we make the most of it by booking flights during sales. With EASTAs again we'll no doubt be going back a few times in the next couple of years
We like Easter hols as the weather tends to be nice and warm but not uncomfortably hot, neither of us are hot weather fans!0 -

Ah we like the sunshine so usually go searching for that! Last few years we've alternated between Vegas and Dubai. What's the US East coast weather like in March/April?
We do love Vegas though, so will try and suggest that again!0 -

It's not Champage they serve, almost everywhere except for the very top end places serve it. It's sparkling wine from California, and for some reason they have been allowed to get away with calling it Champagne, when it would be better described as battery acid. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Not Vegas related but I am on the last leg but 2 of my tier point run to Hawaii, BHX/DUB/LYC/JFK/LAX/LIH/LAX/JFK/DUB/EMA in 4 days.

It's 60f today and sunny in NYC but the other day it was raining and cold. Never the most stable time of the year to come to the East coast. It gets quite warm but sticky in the summer. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot.
