Thought I would ask again, in case my post got missed.
Really could use some help here from someone knowledgeable.
We are going to Vegas from 12-16 May, as part of a longer trip to the west coast. Have booked Signature at MGM Grand, but this could be cancelled. We have previously stayed at the Venetian, but having done that, we don't need to stay there again, and it is looking very pricey at the moment.
I currently have 272,00 myvegas gold coins, and quite honestly, I could do with some advice as to what to do with them. Could I, for example use them to get 3 nights at MGM Grand, and would this be the best use of them. When I looked on Sunday, I could have got 2 days out of our 4.
Thanks in advance for any uidance.0 -
I would book now ....
lowcostusa is the best... but more importantly, the Forex Boneheads are messing up the Dollar / £ ratio, so rooms are only gonna get more costly
Awwww Stuie, I wish I had taken your advice last night.
The price of the bellagio has now gone from £571 to £6710 -
we have also stayed at Caesars a few times...first two times in the Palace Tower (nice enough, great for the pool but a faff when dragging cases)...then we were upgraded to Augustus I think 3 times...last stay Octavius which we booked that way and still have no earthly idea why we got such a good deal on that particular room (we couldn't get a king room comped in that tower - but could 2 queens...seemed like a mistake to us but hey). the latter two were fantastic - though we didn't think the Octavius tower was that much better than Augustus, but it is newer.
It is a huge property...and valet is a complete faff if the Augustus/Octavius option is now closed. Staying in those towers you are at least pretty close to a reasonable exit point. Forum Tower is convenient for the self-park garage at least. Palace just seemed like it was a hike to get anywhere that wasn't Caesars property which we found annoying after awhile.
I haven't stayed in the Roman Tower but based on reviews and photos I would not think it would be something we would like to do...and I would never book a room in that tower and hope for an upgrade as if we didn't get it, we would be really disappointed.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
i'm sat in the office and there's a couple of helicopters buzzing around (which we don't usually get).
if i shut my eyes, i can picture myself sat by the Vdara pool, hearing the same sound of helicopters buzzing by every minute or so, heading back into McCarran from Canyon or Strip trips!

We are also going around the same time (12-19th probably - we have booked flights 9-19th but to San Diego so will likely drive across on the 12th.).
Do you mean 272,000 points? If so, that's quite a nice stack, and you'll likely earn some more. How long have you been playing? I've only got 130,000 so far, but trying to get some more!
I'm curious to hear what advice you get on the rewards, however I think you need to wait a bit to book, I have a feeling they only go up to March right now. I only booked my flights recently so I've not really got far with anything else.
It's good that your current booking is cancellableThat way you can play around with other options as well as having a back up plan. I'll be keen to hear what replies you get as they might help me too. I'm thinking we should maybe try and stay in an MGM property for part of our stay so we can redeem some buffets, but after paying for a stay on points we likely won't have the points for buffets! Hubby has about 110,000 points just now as well. Do you do Social Rewards too?

Our stay is part of a longer trip to the west coast. We are starting off in San Francisco, working our way down to LA, across to LV and then back to San Francisco. We are having to fly in and out of SF, because this was only route where there was availability to use my Virgin miles to travel UC.
No-one has proferred any advice yet, but I am really hoping someone will. I am sure there are posters who know loads about myvegas. Don't know what Social Rewards are. Please enlighten me.

As for room bookings I am not sure you can get 3 nights from My Vegas as I think it is limited to 1 type of reward so you could get 1 week night and 1 weekend night for instance....but that may be totally wrong.
For expert advice the Vegasmessageboard is good and in particular the MyVegas thread

As per Lesley's post, did you mean 272,000 points?
Best use is based purely on what you're looking to get. If you were to pay for a buffet anyways (say $40), and have the option of getting it for free (using say 100,000 points), then you're best doing that.
But if you're not fussed on buffets, and the same 100,000 points gets you a ticket to a show that you want to see, you're best doing that.
Go in with the mantra of it's only good value if it's something you'd buy anyways and you may answer your own questionsLook through the rewards and see what you'd pay for with cash, and how much cash it would cost you and you'll get an idea of a real value (to you). Just make sure you read the small print of the rewards (some require hotel stays, some are BOGOF etc etc)
Sorry - not really answered your question I'm afraid... if it helps though, I have around 300,000 points I have no idea what to do with!0 -

It's a while since i've actually played or checked rewards, as I now don't see a point till I'm close to 90 days away... I only get disappointed when the rewards disappear!0 -
StuieUK34 has stated on here that you can book more than one night with Myvegas rewards.
He booked multiple nights on his last trip, and has already booked 5 free nights for his next trip to Vegas.
He also pointed out you can redeem the Myvegas rewards well outside of the 90 day window needed for things like buffets.
On our last 2 trips we have only redeemed buffets, and 6 buffets during Last Novembers trip was far to much.
I am hoping that what Stuie has said about multiple nights free with Myvegas rewards,as well as booking them over 90 days out is correct,as I don't think I would continue playing Myvegas so much,if I only had the buffets option again.
Has anyone else redeemed multiple nights through Myvegas ?0
