Hi all,
Vegas newbie quesion here
I want to stay at the bellagio for four nights in April (Thurs to Mon). The basic resort room is fine.
The cheapest price I can see for the four nights is £571 on lowcostusa. If you were me, would you go ahead and book it or wait for another while to see if the price goes down further?
I'm not sure whta the typical trend is re: hotel prices, so any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks0 -
I would book now ....
lowcostusa is the best... but more importantly, the Forex Boneheads are messing up the Dollar / £ ratio, so rooms are only gonna get more costly0 -
Hi.. I've no experience of Vegas & hope someone with more experience might help with.
We have a quote for 4th October 2016 (Yes, October 2016 - we like to plan ahead!). Quote is for 7 nights, flying from Manchester to Vegas & back again, staying for 7 nights at Caesars Palace - £2354.00 for the pair of us. Does this sound like a good deal to you? Bellagio comes in at over £3000 and to be honest I think we prefer Caesars Palace
Thanks in advance0 -
Have you stayed at Caesar's before? Reason I ask, it is a lovely property to walk around but they're basic rooms don't look very good. Of course since you're planning so far ahead they might even refurbish them by then.
I always think it's a shame because it's otherwise a 5* looking property, but those rooms definitely don't look 5* so in my opinion it wouldn't even vaguely compare with Bellagio (which isn't worth the price you've been quoted either).
Personally I wouldn't book that far ahead. I sometimes book my flights 11 months out, but I assume you're booking with Virgin or Thomas cook hence managing to get flights earlier.
People say Cosmopolitan is really nice, if you're looking for something 'nice' in that area.0 -
Hi Lesley - No, I've not been to Vegas before. One of my best friends has stayed at Caesars about 6 months ago and they raved about the rooms, and they only had a "basic" room and we would kinda trust their judgement really - they readily complain about most things, so to hear them speak in glowing terms confirmed what we hoped they would say, and verified other family members thoughts of ther hotel when they stayed there in 2012 and 20130

My guess is they didnt have a "basic room"
What lesley meant by basic room is the Roman Tower which is horrible
Any other tower is ok with the best being Augustus or Octavia
Wich tower are the rooms in that you have been quoted for.
Would I book for Oct 16 now? No I would wait and price it up seperately after flight prices are released (november this year), flights are getting cheaper at the moment0 -
I think they have probably been lucky enough to get a free upgrade. Probably too many people book the basic rooms so they'll upgrade people if they arrive and no rooms of that type available. May also happen because they know they have extra rooms in the higher categories so they may as well make people happier.
I honestly don't think the Caesar's Roman Tower rooms are worth the money. Caesar's doesn't seem to be a popular hotel amongst forum users on here either to be honest. I've never heard anyone rave about it at all. You should look up the room pictures and if you're happy with what you are booking then that's fine. I just thought I'd mention.0 -

I have stayed in the Octavious tower and WOW, it is one of the best rooms I have had in Vegas overlooking the Bellagio fountains, my wife cried when we walked in, also has its own entrance/check in and Valet.
To put the room in to context I have also stayed in a terrace Cosmo room/ Wynn, The Hotel and Pallazzo., along with all the usual suspects
Agree with you that an upgrade from the Roman tower is prob easy to get but like you I wouldnt book one0 -

I think that is almost to the £ what my wife and I paid for Caesars in 2011 for our honeymoon. (we flew from London)
We tried the $20 trick successfully, and ended up in the Palace tower, overlooking the pools. - The bottom of this tower is right next to the Pool entrance but a bit of a walk from main entrance. It wasn't a problem and we only spent 1/2 a day at the pool becuse there was so much more to see and do!
It was our first trip to Vegas and we planned very far in advance too. It depends on what you're happy doing. I feel we were happer with a date set, more careful with money, ability to pay it off in chunks etc.
My next trip will be with a friend and we will look to book about 6 months in advance but for us a dry room with two queen beds and a shower will suffice. Im guessing what I'm saying is it depends on what you want from the holiday and what you're willing to pay.
If you do go ahead, I would imagine there's some form of cancellation policy? (keep a note of any fees or cut-off dates)Baby daughter born 13.2.10 :j 6lb 11.5oz0
