We couldn't - maybe it helps if the wind blows in the right direction? We were also around half way up.

I'm not sure if they've done something to 'draw' the crowds closer (speaker direction? volume perhaps?), but we've noticed you struggle to hear the music from over the road now (if you ever could?), even when there's no cars going past.

Maybe I'm just going deaf though :D

We noticed the last 2 trips that the music is softer. Can't hear it from MAG which kinda spoils the ambiance.

On a side note my mum died last week (92 years old) and I asked that Time to Say Goodbye by Brightman/Bachelli be played at the end of the service. As I am having it played at my funeral I wanted something to connect us.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I have stayed at both the Bellagio and Cosmopolitan. Rooms at the Bellagio seemed dated. Cosmo was amazing, that would be my preference.

    This.

You don't even need a Terrace Suite for a fountain view from Cosmo, but for a special occasion they are lovely rooms, we booked one for our 20th trip. Our last trip we were booked into a comped Terrace Studio (I think) and offered an upgrade to a wraparound for $75/night. That is not an insignificant amount of money over 3 nights, but we had been offered the same upgrade for $150/night previously and we were both ill and decided to treat ourselves. A. Mazing. Best room ever.

I personally think Bellagio is overrated and would take Cosmo any day. Edited to add, we have stayed at Bellagio once, for one night, fountain view room booked as a treat...it was lovely, but Cosmo wipes the floor with it.

The only thing, and it has never been an issue for us, Cosmo has a younger vibe. We're mid-40s and not at all young and hip in any way. We're OK with it there, we really like the casino...it does get a bit loud at the front sometimes. I could see how some might feel out of place. We don't care, we really like it there, particularly having the terrace...so nice.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

We have stayed in a few rooms at Cosmo that overlook the fountains and normally cannot hear the music, but agree that part of that will be the floor you are on, I suppose and the wind direction. We sometimes hear snippets, but generally not.

I am so sorry to hear that. :( What a really lovely idea for the song. Take care.

Sorry for your loss.My dad died 5years ago and only a couple of weeks later we stayed at the Bellagio,it didn't matter what time of the day it was every time we went out the fountains played that song. The thing was I burst into tears every time so poor hubby was a nervous wreck trying to rush us past or distract me in some way.....I think he was worried people going past seeing me distraught thought he was responsible in some way...he did get some dirty looks!
