The resort fee change was nothing to do with the third party companies. I don't know the details but it was a ruling by someone that made them stop including the resort fees.

Hi Bobby, I have used them about four times, until this year it was always including resort fee for a good few hotels which was a major plus in my opinion. They are UK based.

ok thank you for the feedback.I hate the motion of resort fee's (might not be the only one!) so if we could avoid them it would be great, a money saving moment prehaps!!
and thanx pebblesmax.I am unsure whos idea resort fee s are but they are an annoying exspense, which I am keen to avoid!!

You don't need to report back -

It applies to flights that are direct from the Republic of Ireland to the USA only (and yes I've done the ticketed DUB LON LAS personally several times and can confirm you clear customs and immigration on arrival in LAS )

And to confuse matters even more the BA2 from LCY to JFK gets pre cleared at Shannon ;)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

As I have not been to vegas for 2 years my TR and Mlife balances are zero.
Used to get comped rooms before but this trip I will be paying full price.
I have looked at lowcost usa and their rates seem pretty good. (I want a week at the MGM Signature)
Has anyone found any similar websites?

It stops at Shannon - so you are preclearing at Shannon and then flying direct to NYC so it makes perfect sense..........sort of ;)

Resort fees are simply a pricing tool. The important thing is to look at the total price including the resort fee - as they vary considerably.

If you want to stay on Strip they are like death and taxes-unavaidable

Ok thank you gor that.As far as i understand the resort fees are for things like wifi and a gym,, i must admit i have had a little look at the mgm cardio room(when we went last year) but being on holiday(ok maybe lazy:D) we did not use it.
My brother did try the wifi though.Just i guess we have been lucky in NOT paying the resort fees the last 2 years we have been,so to us it is an added exspense.
Can i ask if you(or any other poster), do you pay the resort fees when you check in or when you check out?
Im one of these people who likes to budget things and would rather pay when we check in,I dont trust us having any money left when we check out!!

There is nothing to stop you putting a payment against the room as soon as you arrive that equals the room cost , taxes and resort fee so you can't drink it or gamble it :D I've done it when I've been on holiday with people who might do this and we just paid it all in cash at check in. The hotels were fine with it even though the norm is to give them a creditcard and pay with the same card at checkout.

In that case you might like to know that there are a fair number of motels in Las Vegas, including some only one block off the Strip, and AFAIK they don't charge a resort fee. Of course, it's the overall cost vs satisfaction that matters so apologies if this is of no interest.
