    Hello all,

Currently pricing up a trip to Vegas March /April 2016 for 7 nights.
I have seen that people says its best to book flights and hotels separately.
There are flight to Vegas in March direct with Virgin at £544pp from LGW and looking at hotels on comparison sites for these dates even low end stuff like Circus Circus is coming in at £40/£50 a night.

However, on lastminute.com, the same dates flight+hotel 'package' can be had for cheaper at better located hotels Harrahs/Luxor (£665pp) or Excalibur (£620pp). Even MGM shows up at out at approx £710pp. Is there a cheaper way it can be done.

Thanks in advance for any help or comments.

Bobbyhibs, yes I'm a fellow Scot, although by the sounds of your name I'm from the opposite coast from you. It's always good to see new flights going out of Glasgow. Hope Thomas Cook keep it up, as I might end up trying it in future. :)

    yep guilty here!

thomas cook, do glasgow to vegas direct though if i recall virgin atlantic have started to do glasgow to vegas direct, though only through august to ocotober(i think it was thrusday's and maybe mondays?) though impretty sure it was def thrusdays and one other day
just for our first visit thats all we wanted really a direct flight to vegas, though on further research it seems along with glasgow only manchester and london gatwich do direct.

    hi there

Have you looked at the first page of the thread? there are a few websites on there that may help you.Not an expert here so i guess im gonna offer the basic advice(hope it helps)

Have you (and maybe a partner.a friend.someone your going with?) started playing Myvegas the facebook game?

If not check it out(some info on the first page too!)
just you can get rooms at mgm properties(mgm grand, new york, and a few others) If you get enough lp's you can *buy* rooms(im sure its 3 rewards, not sure if you can get 3 rooms usuing 3 rewards), If this is the case, if you(and a friend partner/whomever) *buy your rooms via lps* in theory you can get 6 nights,(but you paying resort fees) and buy another night, huge savings im sure.
If you cant get 3nights rooms via this way you can still get rewards, (3 each) which can help with buffets, credits, shows etc, some money saved this way
    hope this helps

I like to fly direct and go from Manchester with Virgin. The Virgin flight does get slated a bit for running out of booze early but as you don't drink that isn't an issue! The IFE (in flight entertainment) has a good choice of films/TV/games. The Gatwick flight has also a bit of a bad reputation for noisy stags/hens etc but I've never had an issue on the Manchester flight. Virgin offer 'seat plus' in economy which is where you pay for an extra seat, I am trying this for the first time in a few weeks. I've chosen to do it on the way back so maybe get a bit of sleep. The cost was £120, which I didn't think was too bad for a guaranteed empty seat next to you. I suppose you don't know if there is a possibility of getting an empty seat if the flight isn't full but flights I have done are always full.

Ok thanks alot for the feedback,.I am sorta toying around , for nexts year trip(this year if a huge lotto win comes, 6numbers away last week!!:D)

I do like virgin as a brand though, and it seems a few people have flown with them.
It seems at the moment they are trialing (unsure if thats the right word) direct flights from glasgow(august to october, thusdays im sure and i think maybe a sunday or monday).so hopefully it goes well and they will roll out more flights for next year from glasgow!!
    thanks again,

Yep  they make an announcement at the start of the flight about how they can't provide drinks for 300+ people for 9 hours.. I don't usually like to drink and fly but do have a couple on the Vegas flight so does irk me a little if I fancy one late on and the river has run dry...

I'm in the bubble this time, maybe the drink trolly up there lasts longer!
