Just come back from Luxor. Enjoyed it, something different, even the elevators go up at an angle, weird. Room was ok, only gripe was no fridge in room, although ice machine just outside door. I'd go again, if only there were not so many others to try! It's a bit far down the strip as well, I suppose, but handy for the airport.

Well dilemma now. My options are as follows:

First time in Vegas, the Luxor will be adaquae for two young lads I reckon.

I'm guessing there's little chance of getting 13 nights for the £248 difference between getting a package deal?

Must get this booked, driving me mad!!

And the flights have to be direct.

    hi, so vegas virgins huh?:D
you ll enjoy yourself im sure.
Have you checked the first page of the thread?there are a few websites there that may help you.
Af far as i know, there are only a few airports that fly direct from the uk to las vegas direct- glasgow, manchester and gatwick(one of the london airports anyway).

It was our first time in vegas last year(my brother and I) and we have recently returned, both times we stayed in the mgm grand and loved both times.
I cant comment on the rooms or anything at the luxor, but it looks an ok hotel,As its your first time in vegas, i would say that as long as there are beds and a safe (maybe a t.v) and a shower i dont think you can ask anymore from a room, though really thats all my brother and I wanted from a room to be honest:rotfl:
    best of luck

    hi
i would def recommened the myvegas game, easy to use , though i would say it takes a little while to build up the lp's(the gold coins)
I would recommend you play everyday though as you get a bonus(a wheel spin) that is 3 times the number you land on ,if you have played for 5days+ on the bounce.

Before you go to vegas(and have enough lp's) you *buy* the rewards you like.My brother and I got 5 rewards between us(4 buffets and 1 rollercoaster 2 4 1) and they were put on our mlife card(you can get the mlife card in vegas free of charge, Thus if you are staying at an mgm porperty)
any other questions feel free to help, there is alot of good people with good advice on here

We were also at Luxor this year in the Pyramid, just for 3 nights of our trip last month. Yes, elevators are weird. Like a combination of being on an elevator and a train. The room was actually ok. I think I expected the worst and it really wan't too bad at all. And we did well from MyVegas since we were staying there! We got our room free, and we did Bellagio Lunch for 2, Aria Dinner for 2 and MGM Breakfast for 2!

Because we were only there 3 nights we just did more things at that end of the strip. We didn't have much time in Vegas but we're going back in September to make up for that :)

    hi

I hope you sont ming the question hijack,It seems you go to vegas alot, how do you find the flights?do you break the flights up?

Last year my brother and i flew direct from glasgow to vegas and found the flights there and back looooong, you got to half way and are thinking gee another 4 and a half odd hours to go:(

This year we went to new york first,to try break the flight up, but even found the flight from newark to vegas long, i think it was 4 and a bit hours.
getting back home to edinburgh was a treck.we went from vegas to chircargo, chircargo to edinburgh, i found the first part okay just 3 hours.as it was a connection (and myself a bit of a worrier to be fair) i wanted to try get to the gat a bit sharpish, but we were like 10mins behind shedule cos of the journey and we only had an 70mins(now 60mins) we got to the gate in plenty of time, got onto plane on, were meant to leave at 6pm (chircargo time) the flight was delayed 30mins due to the entertainement not working so that delayed us 30mins, but we were told we d make up the time no problem.but it was annoying sitting there waiting, waiting and um waiting!!
sorry for going on and on, but what are everyone to do things on the plane ride to vegas?
Im not very tech savvy but i was told to get one of these video players ipads things i think, but i know notihng bout them, but its a thing to consider.
Do people find upgrades to be better?
do people find spliting up there holiday to be best?
im unsure what other cities i d wanna visit, maybe new york again, maybe miami/florida.
any advice welcomed(sorta looking to work on the 2016 holiday already)

bobbyhibs - unfortunately, that's one of the downfalls of flying to the state (and may other places), the flights are long! and I feel your pain especially as I cant sleep sitting up :(

you say the inflight entertainment was broken? was it fixed for the flight? almost of all long haul flights should have (working) tvs in the back of the seat with movies, tv shows, music, games etc? (an ipad wouldn't do much more than this)

I paid $370 for an upgrade to premium Econony with BA, back from San Francisco to Heathrow. It was nice, don't get me wrong but I'm not sure if it was worth the money? If you want business class you're talking silly money. TBH I think most people who upgrade do it with frequent flyer points, rather than cash.
