I'll be doing 'In n Out' in California somewhere, as am sure will be starving by the time we land in LA!

There is one right by one of the runways. It's an awesome place to sit and watch planes coming in right over your head, I was there a couple of weeks ago.

The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Labor Day is always the first Monday in September. I'm sure I found myvegas reward nights for the Friday Saturday at Luxor that weekend. We have a room booked until the Friday at Wynn, then looking for something for the remainder. It's a popular time for boxing as well (maybe following week) so can be expensive. The days following Labor day are usually the cheapest, the week after it goes up a bit.

I thought it probably was .
Only going to be there the Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
I have a Mandalay Bay voucher for the Thursday, hopefully I can pick up another for the Friday -and Saturday may just use the Alexis as it is dirt cheap -and just one night.. Trying to keep it as cheap as possible as I shouldn't really be adding Vegas at all but as we'll be in Salt Lake it seemed rude not to !! ;)

Thanks for the food advice people - I am getting beyond excited to go. Hoping for good weather, as the rain continues to fall where I am.

I have some major news that might effect your plans.
Platinum are introducing a resort fee. Not sure when, but it's coming in.

Derek says that anyone that books now will be grandfathered in with no resort fee and will get the old half off 4-7 happy hour drinks offer. You will need to tell him you were told by Andy that this is in offer though.
I booked for September yesterday which is when he told me about it

It's a bit cheeky of them doing this to be honest. I'd fully expect no resort fee if I booked before it was introduced, however the happy hour is a bit of an odd one. I'm picturing us having problems with the bar staff on this one. I think they should bring back the happy hour, their bar must be empty!

I think they must be struggling financially, however they've had great rates on Travelzoo recently, so they also must be trying to get folk in. They're getting into a catch 22 here. Might see if we can get a better deal elsewhere.

My Stripburger voucher still showing OK on R.com
    (bought in April last year)
I know from back in 2013, I had Harley D Caf! r.com vouchers which I had bought in 2011, and although the restaurant stopped using the vouchers, they honoured that one anyway :)

Am guessing the same will apply with Stripburger, although I would be asking them first if they will accept it!
I think this time, I'm gonna try and eat at places off strip, away from the tourist spots....
I fancy the eatery places you see when you watch say "Man vs Food" or Drive-in, Diners & Dives, etc etc.... Food places where a bit of passion goes into the cooking (Like Rollin Smoke)

I thought Rollin' Smoke was rubbish. Neither of us enjoyed what we ordered.

we didn't think Rollin Smoke was rubbish, but we weren't so impressed as to consider going back...it was ok, some elements were very good, but others were just so-so...maybe we had our hopes way too high for it...but too many other options in Vegas so chances are we won't return.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Too many other places to try. I think we are going off BBQ to be honest. Our choices at Rollin Smoke were very fatty. Maybe we both chose badly.

While we are on the subject of food here's the earl of sandwich link - newsletter sign up gets you a free sandwich within a month.
I had sent myself an email to remind me to do it as we go in June. Thanks again to the OP (can't remember who).

Yes, we fitted that all into 2 days.

    First day:-
    Walmart 7am
Drive down to peninsual and up through Coronado (20 min stop/walk)
    Zoo
    USS Midway
Flagship cruise (415pm maybe? it was a south one)
    Dinner

    Second day:-
Safari Park (there for it opening 9am)
Bite to eat along the way
    Drive through La Jolla
    Outlets near Tijuana
Tram to Gaslamp - dinner and a drink, tram back.

Zoo was better than Safari park. We were at the zoo on mother's day so it was very busy. Safari park was quiet, but we went on a Monday, presumably most kids at school. More spread out and seemed like less animals. Took longer to get around than the zoo but it was quite nice walking around. Definitely do Zoo as a first choice though, but add the Safari Park if you're keen to do more of similar. Safari Park had lots of upsell options, can't help but think they may be what makes it a better experience, but they start around $50 so would increase your costs significantly. We're not theme park type of people (went to Florida and only did Tampa Zoo) so I realise the prices of these things are probably just quite high and maybe a shock to me because I don't tend to do these types of thing.

    Hope this helps :)

Yes it does thanks very much. On countdown now till we go. It's less than 60 days now as we selected our seats Tuesday!
    Still seems long way off!!
