We went with Maverick to the West Rim and had a great experience.
regards seating, we had 3 couples and 6 seats, the whole trip was split into 3 legs, so we all took turns to sit up front... so unless there was a really obvious unfair weight distribution, I can't imagine it's an issue. But I'm no pilot ;)
Thanks for the reply. Do you know if it was an AStar or EC-130 helicopter? I think we would only have one change, after lunch at the bottom, so not all of us would get the front seat option. I had read a complaint about being stuck in the middle and no view, because of people taking photos and using ipads/phones. EC-130 does at least sound as though it has more viewing angle. For your three changes what trip did you do? Maverick or Sundance are the two options I've been looking at.

My Mlife is currently offering me 2 comp'd nights in the Monte Carlo....
Were already staying for 2 nights at the MC next month which are comp'd.......
Just a shame it cost more to amend our flights to come back 2 days later, than it originally cost to book our flights in the first place!!

I know it has been posted many times before, but I can't find it,so I'll ask nicely again.
What is the cheap number you ring to phone America ?
    I think it starts 0161
Just redeemed two rewards for free bonus nights at Luxor. Not really what we wanted, but been trying to get Monte Carlo without it ever showing in stock...so the fact that our days are available on the bonus days for Luxor meant we just redeemed one night each.
Just need the number to ring them now....Thanks.

Used it last night and it's 0161 3113111

For future reference 'search this thread' just above the first post in any page is the way to go. I used the search for '0161'.

Thanks again to stuie for originally posting.

Normally I would spend my birthday in LV, but we went a couple of weeks ago. However, to make today a bit more interesting I have just booked flights to LA for next year (it will be my 40th). Great price with TC for May 2016 - £822.12 for both of us, but could have been booked for £726.00. We paid by credit card, and selected seats (expensive at £20 per person each way imo).

Is it your birthday today? If so, hope it's a very happy one!

  • Has anyone done a Canyon landing and can recommend a company? Also it keeps mentioning the weight distribution. Does anyone know if the smaller people get put in the middle seats on the helicopter?

We went with Papillion last Wednesday, we went as a group of 4 and the weight was managed with the two lads by the windows and us two ladies in the middle with another couple in the front. All of us had a great view.

If any of your group suffer from travel sickness, the pilot recommended a very early flight. At 11am it was very bumpy and one of our group was very sick onboard :( I felt very sick as well and was glad we didn't stop.

If you have your own transport, I would advise to drive yourself to the terminal as there is quite a long wait before and after.
  • It is my birthday, and thank you very much. Having a great day, but I know I am not having as much fun as I would be having if I was in LV. I guarantee I will be in LV this time next year.
