What do most people do? I'm not a fan of shuttles with multiple drop offs.
Which terminal are you flying into? I'm not sure a Sunday would be a particularly busy day. We have never had a wait of any length arriving on the Virgin flight, but we do normally arrive on a Weds/Thurs. I think last time we were on a domestic flight it was a bit longer, but it's very well organized and moves quite quickly.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
nvh - if you can't see it then you're lucky. It is awful. I can see it when I am not logged in, it's the old format when I am. Whether this has to do with me opting out of the new format when they were testing it, I am not sure.
I just checked and I have the old version in my Forum Version Manager, now that I look, so I guess that's why it's different when I am logged in. I shall never log out again.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I think it's terminal 3 from looking on the website? I think I might just chance it but I'm trying to avoid being tired and grumpy and having to queue!!0 -
Hi Vegas experts! Just booked flights for a trip to Vegas and California in October. I went to Vegas a few years back and this thread was a gem back then as it still is now.
I'm flying into Vegas on 12th October for 3 or 4 nights. Having searched for hotel rooms they're a little more pricey than I imagined. The MGM Grand is over $180 per night, when in the months leading up to October can be had for under $70. Other hotels are similar.
Just wondering if perhaps its a little early for decent deals that far ahead?I've looked at the links in this thread and apparently there's the "National Association of Convenience Stores annual Expo" which could have 30,000 delegates. I'm guessing this could be keeping rates high and maybe I should try and secure a good deal now as prices will only go one way?0 -

You could always make a back-up refundable booking you would be happy with and keep looking.
I think October is a convention-heavy month overall, at least that is my impression, not necessarily all big, but the little ones add up...looking at a few rate calendars side-by-side it doesn't look like that specific period is that different in price overall to the weeks before and after...it looks like there is another one for 10k during your dates as well.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I'm not sure we have ever had to queue at T3, maybe we have just been lucky - last time we had to walk what seemed like forever from the exit as they didn't have the first several taxi positions open, but we were sent straight to our number/spot and were in a taxi within minutes.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

We flew with TC in the premium cabin before they upgraded and honestly, I really liked it! I'm not a seasoned flyer, but we were more than comfortable and found the service to be excellent. We need to fly at least premium as my OH is both tall and (as I like to call it) chunky, and it just works out cheaper for us. Looking at Virgin, an economy flight for one of us costs 2/3rds of what it is for both of us to fly premium economy with TC.
Couldn't you book your flights with Thomas Cook, then use the links and offers posted here for your hotel? Fully understand if you don't want to do that, my OH and I were overwhelmed when we booked our first trip and having it as a package was worth it for the peace of mind! But this trip we're going to book our hotels separately, it means for the cost of staying in one of the middle-range hotels on a package, we can actually hotel hop a little and afford to stay in the Bellagio and some of the "fancier" hotels
If you're wanting a cheaper hotel we stayed in the basic NYNY room on our trip and absolutely loved it. I haven't seen it mentioned a lot on here but it was clean, spacious, lots of storage and a safe. Only downside was that it's quite far down the strip, so we never got to properly explore the top end hotels as honestly we were just pooped by the time we'd walked it. On the bright side, probably means we didn't put on as much weight as we could have
Phew, sorry that was a rambly long post!0 -
We flew internal last Sunday, arriving in LV about 4 pm. The taxi queue was massive, but it moved really fast. I thought we would be ages, but half hour maximum.
TC flight home just now was an old Condor plane. Absolute joke, and a complaint will be submitted once I am over the jetlag.0 -
Thanks everyone. I've done a lot of seaches for flights and did get a few alternatives. After considering the logistics of changing flights etc and comparing it to price I've decided to go with Thomas Cook. Am a little concerned about reliability of the flight as one poster mentioned and would've preferred a scheduled flight but all things considered I'll hope for the best.
Can anyone explain what better protection I get paying with my visa credit card rather than my visa debit card? TIA.0 -
The longest I have ever waited for a cab at LAS was half an hour on a Friday evening. Usually it's about 5 minutes at most as the line is run by a controller and they wizz people though with multiple pick up bays.
Sunday most people are leaving not arriving so it won't be a long wait....if any.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0
