lonestarfan , look into flights from dublin to las vegas , they go via london heathrow or gatwick but strangely are half the price of normal flights ( dont ask me why i dont know )
you can even get business class flights on BA from dublin for under £1000 !!!
What websites are people using to get these flights and prices as did Dublin on virgin and it didn't come up with anything.
Can anyone tell me who else does larger seats rather than just premium economy with virgin. The thomas Cook deal has extra legroom seats available on the way out but not available on the return so I need to look round again. When you are all suggesting these different flight combos are you just booking flights and then book hotel separately? The deal I've found with thomas Cook is good so don't really now want to do seperate flights and accomodation but do need a better seat than economy so I'm stuck really as I want to go from Manchester or Birmingham preferably but can't afford virgin premium economy but don't know who else does a better seat than economy but at an affordable price.

    Try https://www.kayak.co.uk

example search DUB LAS DUB 1/10-8/10 cheapest fare £361 although personally I'd have checked the operators and gone for the Lastminute.com option of £373

other good one to check is ebookers.co.uk

You can select premium economy or business class fares as well as the economy I've quoted . Can't comment on the TC charter - I wouldn't book a charter flight long haul-ultimately if the plane goes tech the potential for a really long delay is high whereas on a scheduled flight they have more flights to switch you onto. Just my personal opinion though.

For the placement flight MAN DUB look at https://www.skyscanner.net

For hotel rates look at https://www.smartervegas.com

Another option might be to look at flights to LA and add a short hop domestic flight- far more premium economy options - Air New Zealand are particularly good and LA is a more competitive route than LAS

The why is that UK airport departure tax is far higher than Irish airport tax.

I've done it and saved loads - the only thing you have to remember is to allow a REALLY long transfer time as if you miss the flight from Dublin - the rest of the trip automatically cancels. If you live close to Heathrow or Gatwick though it is possible to fly DUB LON in the later afternoon or evening and take the LON LAS flight the next day and go home (or book a cheap airport hotel) for the overnight.

Am I right in thinking that if you do this you have to catch the first flight or the whole lot are cancelled? So you couldn't book it from Dublin and then catch it from London, skipping the Dublin flight?

Would you be able to collect your luggage on the return flight or would you need to fly back to Dublin as well?

    Las-LHR and LGW-dub and
Then just be a no show for the last leg to DUB

I want to book hols to Las Vegas for my 50th and my nephews 21st birthday in sept. wanted to splash the cash and go all out lol eg premium economy with virgin but its just too much money for my budget. Thought about premium seats on thomas cook from Manchester instead. Any opinions on the seats? Any other suggestions. Can't see me managing in an economy seat.
i want the hol to be large very large over the top experience as its not likely we'll go again. I want escapism. I was thinking of booking Caesars palace or Bellagio as they're in the films.
The reviews of these two hotels on trip adviser indicate you don't always get what you pay for so maybe I should look mid range instead?
We enjoy a dabble at the casinos and a little bet on the footie and horses etc. Will want to take in some shows too.
Any opinions about hotel choice? Any other thoughts etc thanks a lot.

Wait until the next sale and the cost of PE seats comes down to non sale economy prices if your dates match up. Or at already mentioned there is the start from Dublin option but that depends on whether you are willing to do the extra flights involved.

Yes you can ask for your bags to be ticketed through to LHR/LGW, if the agent plays his/her face about doing it say you have gifts in the bags that are going to be dropped off there.
Drop the last leg once or twice and nothing would be said, keep doing it and don't be surprised to get an invoice from the airline for the fare difference.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
