    I put £420 into our S and S ISA this morning - and checked how we were doing;

    - £169.00

Seems I may not be as good at picking as you are!

Its standard OP day so signature updated to reflect this. OP's so far this month £676.20 and need to find £23.80to hit the £700 fit Month target.

Should get the £10 from TT account and will add the rest myself from personal spends.

My OP's are made up as follows....

    £7.64OP from cashback
    £218.60 from FIT payment
    £200.44 from bills account!
    £64.96 from personal spends account!
    £184.56 standard OP

No 'profit' from santander account They have charged me the £2 account fee but haven't applied any cashback. I wonder if this is because I've started the transfer. It's a bit annoying if they've done this and not quite fair

    interest paid

    Sept 2015 £268.90
    Sept 2014 £297.02

    £28.12 less in 2015 than in 2014 :T:T:T

    CC £600 repaid

Oh no not good :( it's a long term plan though so it will go back up hopefully :) My shares pride has dropped since I brought them! It will go back up though!
  • Been a busy last few days. Have been a little spendy as have brought nieces birthday present and a few Christmas bits from personal spends. Also had to buy a new iron as the other one was shorting out the electrics!

Have got everything ready for the new money shuffle incorporating the new coop account! Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly. Will double check it before the shuffle starts.

  • Thanks all so much. This year has been tough so it's good to be getting somewhere.

Have had £425 so far in fit payments which is really bumping up the OPs on a quarterly basis. Looks like this months generation will be okay on this front too so the Autumn quarter should be okay at least. I had in my mind is get about £600 per year in fit payments for my system and £100 per year saved electricity it looks like this year I will beat both those targets barring a month long solar eclipse or something!

That all said due to the blasted plumbing disaster it looks like I won't hit my £5000 target this year. There is a (very) small possibility I might make it but is be happy if I'm over £4250. The solar panels and the plumbing added up to about £8k of unexpected expenditure this year and only £5k was from savings the other £3000 we found from day to day scrimping so really being £750 off target isn't too bad.

Plasterer has let us down for tomorrow so need to think about someone else which is annoying Need to get the room finished now as it's annoying me!

Need to give my blog some attention as I've been ignoring it for a few days. I had a lovely foraging trip I need to write up.

In other news the shares purchased have grime up from 444 to 451 each in a couple of days . Aldo one of my other shares have gone up x 3 since I got them. Woo hop. I'm only in it for the dividends though and will be reinvesting any returns for now. The s and s ISA on the other hand is currently pants down about 5% but it's s long term investment and it will go back up over time :)

P2P still ticking along in FC, I'd like to invest more this way but am cautious as its not protected. May try to add another £100 this month, if I can go super frugal on personal spends!
  • Whoops just got distracted on MSE discounts forum and purchased 2 Amazon items. Spent £20 but good for 2 Christmas presents and saved at least £30 off there sale prices or more like £60 off RRP.

That's 2 more ticked off, well happy with that :)

Realised I hadn't answered this. I have no skills/knowledge with s and s but have a long term plan for these so if you go for big company that pay dividends historically they go up and down but it evens out eventually.

Our business is primarily wholesale but gave one retail outlet. (sort of) in the gift sector. We've been going for 10 years make a living from it and are starting to build our wholesale nicely.

Despite what the tories have said the high street hasn't recovered and since the election most of our customers have noticed a downturn in sales (although our products still sell well) with the exception of the tourist areas which have had a good summer and the museums etc which are flying. Lots of people going on stay-cations I suspect.

It's tough times running your own business but we will come out the other end.
