Hi powling,
You might be in the same boat as alot of people ,
having to wait for a letter that reiterates the offer with different terms and conditions , once they get letter signed and back then monies released.
At least thats what rbs-natwest are doing.
good luck#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
Well done for exploring your rights, the problem with these coperations is that they exploit peoples ignorance and hope we (the problem makers disapear) go away. If your a person who accepts things then you are damaging your country and the next generation of information seekers. Accept nothing until there is no more room to ask for reviews appeals or even court. People power works as you can see by fantastic sites such as this one. everyone involved in the bank charges saga deserves a huge pat on the back because the people that count are finally listening. WELL DONE EVERYONE XX:T
Hi Marc,Just to let you know the bank has totally stone walled me with regards to my claim. So now I'm getting MEAN!!I have been in touch with my local Civil Court to ask advice on the process of my claim since the news of the OFT statement. I was told that I can still apply through the courts that they have not been told differently and that my bank has stalled me throughout my claim could go in my favour. Sooooo...here I go today to get the ball rolling through the courts.I'm nervous but very clear in the fact that I won't let the banks dictate to me how to proceed with this issue. I will let you know how things go.Thanks again for all your advice and support.Lorna0 -

Pretty much. If they havent taken the money already and you can stop any money going into the account so they cant take it then I would do so. Any request for payment of it should be met with a response that you will consider payment of a questionable and possibly n unlawful charge after the test case is heard and a judgement is issued on the matter.
It is odd that they are still being allowed to charge at the current levels given the uncertainty of their lawfulness and I am surprised that there has been no official stance on this from the FSA already. Even if it where to encourage the less honourable to deliberately bounce cheques and direct debits then I am sure that kind of behaviour could be countered by other methods.
There doesnt seem to be any balance to the matter.0 -

Hi Martin and Everyone
I made a claim to Natwest in May for £6512.35 (£5854.84 + £657.51 interest). I received a settlemnt letter on Saturday 21st July offering me £5854.84. Great news! I sent my acceptance back by return of post - recorded delivery! They received it on Monday 23rd July. I made 2 calls early this week to find out when I would receive the money. First I was told 'up to 10 working days', then 'between 7 and 14 working days'. Then I rang again this morning. To cut a long story short, because I had not been paid the money before the 27th July, I had to be sent ANOTHER offer letter (for same amount), which could take up to 3 WEEKS and send back another acceptance! Even though I had accepted their offer before the 27th! I was told this was an FSA ruling. I rang the FSA who refuted this - I had already accepted and should receive the money straight away. So, back to the bank, who stuck to their guns. Back again to the FSA who stuck by their guns and suggested I ask the bank which Regulation they were using. A third call to the bank - and when I asked which Regulation, the person at the bank said "it's the OFT" and cut the call short!
Has anyone else come across this over the past few days? It seems that the banks are making up the rules as they go along.0 -

What is happening with NatWest and presumably with RBS as well is that they are sending out new letters to all the claimants with their offer and this will take 3 weeks.0 -
