Good Morning chums, well today as life is back to normal and I now have an hour or two to spare I am going to make some carrot and coriander soup as I have a kilo of carrots sitting in the bottom of the freezer just looking for a home
Then whilst that's cooking I am going to do a little bit of mending.
One of DGS Henry's trouser fastenings has popped so that needs repairing.By the time thats done my washing should be ready to hang on the line .Its a nice sunny day here in north Kent so I shall make the most of the dry weather for my washing. If I get enough time I may pop up to Dobbies as its our U3A coffee morning and I have a free Dobbie voucher to use up
Lunch will be soup and crackers then I will be off round to DDs to let the dogs out for a run and I'll do some veg prepping for DD for her dinner tonight.
Quiz night tonight for me so no dinner for me to prepare as I get something to eat when I'm there. So thats my 'pottering' around Tuesday gone:):)
and No Money spent at all:):)
Tomorrow morning is sociology class where we are discussing the link between class and education, should be interesting
Have a good day chums

Hi All,I am still not buying it,a tight month for us as Mr V's car needed spends and we went to Oxford for the W/E.
Lynne doing up the kitchen sounds brill,I am toying with painting mine, but of course haven't finished stripping the paper on the stairs yet.
Well yesterday we went to view a very expensive house.YUK it was filthy and stank of dog,the main bedroom was worst.I like dogs but they could at least have washed its bed and opened the windows. She said they were in no rush to move, they won't be moving soon she needn't worry. We are still having a steady stream of viewers on ours,we had one on Saturday. It was sooo nice to come home yesterday,my house is priced over 100k less than the one we viewed, when we move I want a better house not a worse one!
We also went to visit my cousin for an hour, really enjoyed it.
I have almost lost my voice don't know if it's a cold or tree pollen.Think I will also make some carrot soup this morning then do a bit in the garden, will turn some charity shop trousers up later.Funny how our lives are so similar.

Must be soup day, I'm making leek and potato
Looks like more expense for us this month. We had the law mower stolen yesterdayit was brand new, used just once. Luckily it was a steel to order job and that's all that went.
Anyways the good news is, hubby has found a job here locally :j. He starts Monday. Bad news is the pay is dire but it's steady work and won't be influenced by the rotten weather we get. We can manage well enough on what will be coming in each week but I think now we will also be able to claim wtc, something it need to look into more
Had a brill time in London , was more expensive then I wanted, but I was showing a friend around who had never been and is a lot worse off then ourselves so I wanted to treat her. So the extra I spent was worth it, just means I have to save a bit more now
Today as I say is going to be expensive, not only lawn mower ,but locks and security cameras. We do live in the middle of nowhere and really never ever felt the need to even lock the front door before. Now however that's all going to change. Now someone has seen what we do have in the garage and shed they may decide to come back for it another time
And I've the biggest mountain of clothes here needing ironed so best get a wiggle on
Take care all xx0 -
So sorry Suki, what a rotten thing to happen! ((HUGS(( Glad to hear about your husband's new job though

Alas, the Aldi mini food processor was a dud, so as there were none left, I reclaimed my £9.99 (handed over 1p and got a £10 note). Instead the tenner went within the hour, with 60p extra to my dental practice for my 6 monthly scale, polish and check up.
I wonder where else that £10 note will go/has been on its travels?!
Suki, commiserations on the theft of the lawnmower. It's horrible when we lose trust and have to lock everything away.
I had the second duck leg, carrots and green beans when I came in from work, so nice not to have to cook from scratch.
It's a beautiful evening here, and I hope it is with you too.0 -
We are back from sunny Barcelona, having had a very good time although terribly expensive.
I have now come to the conclusion that trying to take OH's mind off his impending birthday may be more expensive than I had anticipated so I need to be even more careful with the NBI over the next six weeks until our next little jaunt to Arras.
Reading back, it sounds everyone is still working hard to keep to our mantra and stay aboard.Don't get it perfect - Get it goingBetter Than Before0 -
Evening chums
I'm having a relaxing evening, chilling in front of the TV, had a bad nights sleep so think it's catching up with me now.
My Asda delivery on Saturday was a bit of an experience. First off it turned up 45 mins late, no apology or explanation given.
They only supplied and charged for half the cat food I ordered (the main reason for the delivery).
After the driver left I realised some eggs were broken and the sausages had a 2 day shelf life (should be minimum of 7 days). They substituted a case of 18 cans lager for 4 individual packs of 4 and charged same price, they also swapped a 2kg bag of dried cat food for 2 boxes of 865g and again charged same price.
So after taking my mum out for lunch for her birthday I emailed them and asked for a refund. Had an email on Sunday saying they were refunding £19 to my bank account and I could keep all the goods :j money was in my bank account yesterday
So while it's unlikely I'll use them again for online delivery, it just goes to show you never know what'll happen unless you speak up!0 -
Suki, fantastic news about your husbands work, what a royal pain about the lawn mower.Cx:0

I can't believe someone stole your lawnmower Suki! Can't trust people nowadays - the few ruin it for the many.
I've been naughty today. Bought a couple of razors (ok they are necessary if I don't want to scare people off with my hairy legs!) for £8.95, then took my mum for dinner in Spoons which cost £17.36 (steaks) as she has been ill for a couple of days so hasn't eaten. I bought a few things at Asda (essentials and something for tea) for £7.96 then I was walking past our cancer research shop and saw a set of wooden stamps for £10! Usually they are more than that for one of them so I'm afraid I bought them. I do have some ideas for them already though, as I have UTEE and clear stamps do not work on them.0 -
