NOT BUYING IT! 2015 - A consumer holiday

Afternoon all have spent the day making the most of the gorgeous weather. I wore a skirt for the first time this year together with a cotton top that I brought in the sales last summer. ( A new outfit there) I have also painted my toes and dug out a pair of sandals. The big decision today was that as I wear trousers and flatties to work, for practicality I no longer need 12 packs of unworn tights so I have donated 6 to a cs along with 2 pairs of shorts that no longer fit. I have also filled in my R85 forms so that as a low paid worker I do not pay tax on the interest on my savings.0

Home from my 'posh' afternoon tea with DD at an hotel.very nice, if vastly overpriced though.Did bring home the uneaten slice of carrot cake and will have that later on this evening.:):):)
DD bought me three tops and two pairs of trousers as she wanted to 'treat' me.So holiday wardrobe sorted combined with stuff from last year:) no more to buy clothing-wise this year:):)Bless her I had to persuade her that dressing up, and smart clothes are a bit daft for me as I look after my DGS for most of the week so rarely go anywhere 'smart' to wear them Far more practical to have some summer tops instead:)
Gorgeous day today though, long may it last
Cheers fellow frugallers
Glad you had a lovely afternoon JackieI've been thinking I don't need to buy any summer clothes this year either. I would like a new teeshirt with not-too-short short sleeves iykwim, but so far haven't found any at a price I can afford this year (drop in household income coupled with the cat suddenly needing expensive medicine every day for the rest of his life ) so will just make do.

Well yesterday was a spend day, on the plus side I can no longer be called nicker-less :-]. The old one's have now gone in the bin and I also got 2 top's, that fit properly, due to getting closer to my target weight, have put the one's that no longer fit into a charity bag, apart from that the only spending I'v done has been on shopping.£71.93/ £180.000

I have an online delivery coming this morning to stock up things I can't get at Aldi, like cat food etc ...have ordered 4 months worth of stuff and it came to £100.11 _pale__
It's also my mums birthday so present is £30 and we're going out for lunch ..... I'm paying
Think I'll need to retire to my bed this afternoon in shock :rotfl:0 -
Morning, been awake since the crack of sparrow .... on a Sunday!
Yeast bubbling away ready to make a loaf of bread, the yeast is a tin that a friend gave to me as she couldn't cope with it-I can, esp as a freebie.
Lunch with Mum yesterday,I cooked at her house-we had chicken cooked in a bag with spices ,onion and peppers, something she found in the cupboard ,it was very tasty but can't remember the make.Jacket potato and HM coleslaw, followed by a jar of out-of-date pears with ice-cream.
I took an enormous bag of her books to CS,along with a shoe rack and bin bag of my clothes I had kondoed.
Changed Mums bed and sorted her new mobile out.
Profitable lunch as I came away with 2 very large pots for the garden , a container of chicken stock and an armful of rhubarb!
Purse only opened for peppercorns and grapes.
Spent 3 hours in my little back garden, replaced and replanted pots then good sweep and hose down,it looks miles better. The old pots were whacked on the head with spade and will be disposed of today.
Visitors next weekend so I need to tackle the front garden this morning, whilst I have some spare time but it isn't as sunny.
I am having trouble with the S£y box ,the signal keeps breaking up and I begrudge having to pay £60 to have an engineer out,but have found I can manage to watch some things on the laptop.
So rubbish viewing last night, but got my knitting out(more fingerless gloves!) and also did a bit of my very small hexie patchwork, love it but my varifocals are not brill for close work!
Like emslovesmikey and nursemaggie I am trying to be ahead of the game.
Freezer raid for lunch, there seem to one or two surprise packets which need investigating.
Have a good day all,and sorry about the long post .

Hi all. Just checking in.
Spent most of my grocery budget this month but the freezers are heaving because I managed to get quite a few YS. So I will be doing a meal plan with only a few fresh bits to get.
No unnecessary purchases this Month so really pleased with that.
Have decluttered another 3 bags to charity so house is breathing a sigh! I am loving a more minimalist look. It strangely clears my mind & I feel more relaxed.
I am also loving my garden at the moment. garden and the shed have been decluttered of all its rubbish. I now have a lovely little potting area that has been cleared, just for me. (Normally filled with DH junk) so I now have some veg seeds sown. I only have a little 10 ft x 4 ft area for veg that i have a bit half heartedly messed with the last few years. I am determined this year to make more of an effort.
HxWe WILL stick to a budget for all of 2015 without loosing momentum. :j0 -
Hi Everyone
Everyone seems to be doing very wellI am being as careful as possible as I go on holiday to Italy in 8 weeks. Very cheap holiday on camping site but really looking forward to it. Staying in Pisa and will get the train to check out Florence while I am there. Shopping from freezer and cupboards
and I have just stuck a hair dye from £1 on my head after giving myself a hair cut. Hoping my hair don`t turn green
Have a nice day everyoneMake £2 a day challenge - doing well so far.0 -
Ooh, Italy, envy envy. I was there a few years ago, staying in the Garfagnana (sp?) Valley north of Pisa. Beautiful. We also took a day trip on the train to the walled city of Lucca. Highly-recommended for a visit.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
