Ivy leaf I just got nice plain round neck black t shirt with short sleeves for £4 then 25% off from sainsburys they had other colours nice quality if any help x

Ooh thanks for the tip! We'll be going to Sainsbury's this week, so I'll have a look. I hadn't thought of looking there :) My favourite ones are from "CC" (used to be called Country Casuals) as theirs are designed for the "more mature" lady so the short sleeves aren't too short IYKWIM, but they are very expensive so i usually only buy them when they've got a sale on. I have bought from M&S in the past too, but the quality isn't very good this season - the fabric is really thin.

ETA We stayed at a campsite in Tuscany the year before last, and had a day in Pisa - we were lucky enough to find an outside table at a restaurant with a view of the Tower :j but we felt so sorry for our waiter - he was quite elderly and you could see his feet were killing him. He said he had started work at 6 a.m. and was due to finish at 11 p.m., poor man.

As for Florence - Wow. Just Wow. :D I don't know if we'll ever manage to go there again, but we're so glad we went. I wish my Italian was better though.

Had a wee spend today! Some years ago, my food processor died, and I've been waiting to find one small enough for a singlie, and didn't want to spend a huge amount. Today Aldi had a small food processor reduced to £9.99, which chops, grates and slices, and has a 3 year guarantee, so I brought one home and I'm very happy with it. :j:j

I also spent a £12 voucher in Holland and Barrett, so I'm stocked up on dried fruit and nuts for a while now.

Tonight's meal was a YS feast - a duck leg with carrots and green beans. Same again for tomorrow night. I love duck, and only ever have it when it is reduced. I'd been saving this in the freezer since December, and it hadn't suffered for it. The bones are going to make stock, it will only be a small amount but it will be good!

Today was such a lovely day, I continued my instant gardening, and I pulled out old herbs and planted new ones into fresh compost. I've made little herbal bouquets from sprigs of the old plants - 2 types of thyme and one of rosemary. I used the ribbons from those annoying loops which keep tops on shop hangers, to hide the elastic bands.

Very satisfying to have something to give to my friends, that essentially I've made out of scraps.:rotfl::rotfl:

  • Hi everyone, thought I'd pop in.

Been busy making christmas presents. Everyone gets two presents (only small, in a heart shaped bauble) and so far I've done one of everyones. I do like the hand made stuff, especially as it's using my stash!

Off to the cinema next Thursday to watch the Avengers (using my birthday cinema gift card). Its the first time I've used it and I'm definitely glad I received it

Just had to post again and say, Thank You Thank You Thank You.I didn't realise what a long road Northdown Rd was :):):) but we asked in a Londis shop nearby and the lovely young man pointed us in the right direction bless him.

Both my sis-in-law and I were so pleased to be able to buy such large quanties for a relatively lower price than the SM's.She lives in Faversham and we said if all else fails we would have gone to Macknades(but their prices are creeping up a bit !!!)
So glad we found this gem that you recommended. We said we will both go there again, the staff were really nice and helpful, plus although a lot of the packages of a lot of stuff were in a different language the english trandslation was printed up underneath for those of us who only have one language :)
Next time I go I want to buy some of their delicious looking salami and cured ham.
    Cheers for the tip

Hope your feeling better Candygirl, and that you had a nice time on the holliday.

I spent rather a lot of money on Friday night! But on the plus side I'v been kept out of mischief all weekend doing a intensive course, so have now got 3 therapies that I'm trained for.

  • Ahoy there all!

Well am back from a terrific long weekend in Belgium (which I had saved and budgeted for - and so enjoyed all the more). Have just about caught up with all the posts! Wow amazing folk on here! you all get so much done!

In the spirit of NBI I have worked out what I can do to revise my old kitchen. I am going to take the cupboards off the wall (they are dying and falling off anyway) and just put in a shelf. where the drawers are (where the plastic sides are crumbling so causing the drawers to collapse) I will then use one of the doors to put where the drawers were and use another door to make a shelf and a bottom to the 'new cupboard'. this lightbulb moment came while on the long coach journey!

Never a wasted moment ! I ll let you know how the grand plan goes - ive got to turn out the cupboards yet!! :rotfl:
