    Hiya all

Edwink - glad little hen is on the mend - what a devoted owner you are! Also well done on your haggling!
eandjsmum - I know kids at that age always seem to need something! Mine are now older but I remember it well! No matter how carefully you plan - they sabotage it - or their school/college does!
Hoiploy - Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Already??? Not sure whether to be horrified or really impressed :)

Anyway - re my great plans - felt really tire this morning so allowed myself to lol around and have a nice long bath and pootle about.

But this eve I felt better and while dinner was cooking (recipe on the MM&M thread - sorry are we allowed to mention other threads?) i managed to turn out 4/9 kitchen cupboards - throwing some stuff out - some needing a wash for the chazzer - some staying where they are till old cupboards come down and new shelf goes up (cupboards are dying and I cant afford new!)

Need to get more done tomorrow and so off to bed once I ve checked one more thread. Heave ho me hearties!
im so glad you noticed, heck, I meant 'easter' :D

I like to plan ahead, but

    Hi Hoipolloi

Just thought it might be of use to you and others that maybe don't know. When you quote from a post and it contains text that is not relevant to what you are posting/answering about. You just go in to the quoted area and delete all that is not relevant to "your" post. Be careful not to delete the persons name of that post and make sure the QUOTE at the beginning and the QUOTE at the end stays intact!! Any problems with it just give me a shout as I will be below deck for the day still sleeping off the massive spend from yesterday!!

Hope everyone is having a fab Easter. Hubbie is working today so I have a studio tidying day ahead of me at long last. Mmmm!! Where to start!!!!!! Where to start!!!!!

    Edwink x

I'm not poking my head anywhere outside the door today .Looking out of my window at the moment its looking very dark, grey and gloomy out there and I would say a strong possibility of heavy rain.So I shall be tucked up in my kitchen this morning making aan apple pie for tomorrow and possibly some melting moments biscuits for the boys to scoff. Another NSD for me, my cupboards runneth over at the moment.I may even do a stocktake to see just how much stuff I have in there
Cheers chums have a good weekend

Well in an effort not to spend money I decided to stay at home today, couldn't think of Anywhere to go other than round town where there would be numerous temptations to behold.

As I ate the last of the hot cross buns yesterday and I will be tempted to go out to buy some, I'm attempting to make a raisin spice bread instead, it's currently in the airing cupboard trying to rise.....I'm using ingredients I already had in including the OOD raisins, OOD yeast and OOD flour lol so it's helping to declutter my food cupboards aswell!

If it works I'll be slicing it and putting some in the freezer so I don't eat it all in one go....

Reading about the melting moments brought back lovely memories of my nan. We used to make them together and she'd make a big box of them to take on holiday - along with ginger fairlings.

DD1 is going to be 6 in 2 weeks and has asked for a Furby Boom and a Lego Cinderella Castle anyone with any knowhow on saving money on these much appreciated?!

Also need new school shoes for both girls normally I get them in Clarks but anyone recommend a cheaper option but good shoes?

    Many thanks
    Beanie

Honestly, if they normally get a decent amount of wear out of Clarks shoes, then I would stick with them - but buy them from Brantano or some suchlike.

I buy Clarks every year for my daughter bar this year - they mixed up my order - and I ended up buying supermarket shoes. They didn't even last her the month and were £16. The Clarks are usually around £30-40, but last the whole year.

Also, my daughter announced on 22nd December that she wanted a Furby Boom for Christmas before last. I scrambled around everywhere trying to find one and eventually did - paying handsomely for the privilege as well. She played with it twice, then it woke her up in the night and she put it in her cupboard. I know it's not a proper answer, but could you persuade her to something else? :o

Suki - You may already know, but just in case you don't, you can no longer use cash on any London buses. Thought I'd mention it as your friend won't have an Oyster yet :)
