Just made some chocolate & prune steamed puddings to pop in freezer, used up OOD prunes & cocoa powder and remains of old SR flour. Have another small gap in the cupboard now :T

Going to make sausage meatballs & spaghetti for tea using sausages from freezer (date on them is April...last year lol)

    Evening all.
DH & I have just come back from a much needed couple days away and evening in a lovely hotel. It was all planned spending (mostly saved from NBI) that we had saved to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. I am so grateful to all my shipmates as I could relax without worrying about the cost of it all. Who knew that NBI can help with the special things in life.
Thanks shipmates. Hope you all have a great weekend. X
We WILL stick to a budget for all of 2015 without loosing momentum. :j

dND thanks for the recipe ,I found some olive oil at the back of the cupboard and what I've done to save me going to the shop is put some in the garlic oil flavoured bottle ,hopefully it will absorb left over garlic flavour.NSD again and I just pottered today and knitted.Got all my washing done.dried ironed and put away though.:)Still hanging on to my purse strings
I love watching James Martin he so normal and down-to earth and 'unstarry' for a chef, sort of chap you'd like to chat to in the pub :)
  • I've paid my phone bill since I've last been on, bought food for work at a cost of £12.54, then used that £25 I got from That's Life and £20 birthday money I received to get a heat gun, some embossing powder and some utee.

Well I made a start on planting my seed's yesterday, with a helping paw off furry owner, still got some more to plant so that will be this afternoon's job, fingers crossed that every thing grow's.

As you can see, the plan to stay in bed has changed, not intentualy done by furry owner this time, it's just that she must be realllly tired, she's snoring louder than OH! so pot of tea is done, washing is on and I'm waiting for it to warm up a bit outside before doing routine water, oil & tyre depth check's on the car, I might even get the chance to clean it if it stay's dry, otherwise it's going to be a knitting day.
    £71.93/ £180.00
  • I too love the fact that because we are curbing mindless spending we can treat ourselves to fun experiences!! Mind you, think we've gone a bit mad now, have booked up for 3 Rock concerts and a trip to the theatre spread out till November!! 4 trips to London in one year is more times than we've been up in the last decade!!!!

Working today in retail land than off for chinese food with a group of lovely friends, will end up with a full belly and head ringing with chatter and laughter!!

Ahoy shipmates. It is fantastic that we can spend our money on the important things in life instead of frittering it away with nothing to show for it.

Busy day for me,but I love it.Lots of people for lunch and tea.Including my Mum and Mr V's former MIL.Complicated families! He was a widower when we married so it's his former wifes Mum.Some of our children but ones we don't see a lot of.:D

Better crack on,raining here which is a shame 'cos the plan was to take the Grandma's for a drive later. My Mum doesn't get out much and the other Gran isn't local so we thought a spin through the peak district would be nice for them.trouble is most of it's hidden in low cloud today!:oWhen the weathers like this it doesn't tend to blow over.

    Mornin' all!

NBI still going quite well this week. Friday I admit to buying a Thing for the house, however it was well researched. Originally it was looking to cost around £200, I found an example for £75 then a fortuitous gander in a local to work store revealed one for £60. I decided then the time spent on my research was up and we'll worth the time

Yesterday we had a lovely but spendy day out, met up with some friends, nice experiences and lots of yummy food, and no Things bought! Even have takeaway with leftovers for today... Does NB lunch count?!

Today it is meal planning, grocery shopping, cleaning and hopefully doing a book swap with a friend. I have two books that are due back to the library next week and one is far from done with, have had a good crack at it this morning but t'Internet kept distracting me (that and OH's snoring!)

Mostly lurking on here, but just to say I had a surprise Not Buying Moment when my washing machine decided to throw a fit - I thought I was insured for parts (for free) so got sucked in to paying £155 over the next year for fixing or replacement, and maintenance. Realised thats not what I used to, and not what my family does either - we go to a local bod, and buy reconditioned machines for half the price that last for the same amount of time. So I cancelled the visit - still need to cancel the policy, when the paperwork arrives, so we'll see.

Plus I bought 3 x 90 litre bags of bark chippings to lay all over the borders, stop the weeds and eventually feed the soil. Essential purchases are A Good Thing.
