    Hi Busy

    Your names added too!!!

Plenty of time to re-arrange. We are starting in March!! Just under 2 weeks to get yourself sorted!!! :rotfl:

March or April will be good for most of us by the look of it!! Especially me cos my wardrobes are only half built and hubby is fast a sleep on the sofa!! And it is his birthday!!!! He was up for work at 2.30am this morning and came home exhausted this afternoon so I thought I should let him sleep a bit!! We had birthday roast dinner and homemade chocolate swirl cake with friends yesterday as we knew it was not worth arranging anything for tonight!!

Another NSD to report. Children were playing and hanging out together so well that we stayed in at their request. Can't do another day in though so out tomorrow - boys need haircuts so spends there. Early weekdays are cheaper than Fri-Sun so at least I will save a bit. Promised we will make rocky road when we get back from town and need to buy some chocolate, think have the other ingredients. Not planning to spend much more.
  • Evening everyone

I'd also like to take part in the clothes-hanger-project. I have loads of clothes that are only in my wardrobe cause I might be able to wear them again when I/should I ever lose weight....

I'm also a part-time-veggie, I couldn't go completely without meat as I like it too much and since I don't like tofu and that like I wouldn't be able to sustitute some favourites like shepherds pie with a veggie version. But my portions are very small, so I would say I have less than 400 g a week.
My Mum and sister had set themself a challenge to eat less meat this year and try to have 4 veggie lunches a week and only one with meat. So veggie-recipes are going back and forth at the moment.

Also Mum did a bit of reasearch into farm shops and found one a mile away. Would be a good distance to cycle there. So I might start to go there as well, problem are only the opening times. Can't go there during the week at the moment and when I go there on Saturday it is after my weekly groceries round, so should they not have something I inted to buy there I will have to go back to the supermarket again. Well, will see. Probably I will start by asking my Mum to buy a few things for me when she goes there. She is more flexible with the times as she works part time.

    Have a nice evening everyone

  • Another 'almost' veggie here. I can go for weeks without eating meat, and then I have a craving for bacon or something. Generally I prefer meals without meat. I do like fish, though.

I don't think I need to join the wardrobe challenge, because I already know that I mostly wear what's in the airing cupboard and the stuff in the wardrobes gathers dust! Best of luck to you all, though! Had a bit of a sort out in the wardrobes yesterday afternoon and filled another couple of charity bags. I'm hoping to get to the point where what's left actually HANGS instead of all being squashed and squeezed in. And are things that I wear, not stuff that I bought just because it was in a sale/might come in handy one day/have no hope of ever squeezing into again but keeping it just in case... (my bust expanded when I hit the menopause and I still occasionally come across teeny-tiny little shirts that used to fit perfectly and which I can't get into now for love nor money!)

When I joined this thread in January my goal was to pay off the bedroom furniture and furnishings that I bought at New Year without dipping into my savings. In the end I did have to dip, but only to the tune of £100, which was a lot less than I would have done otherwise, and I'll pay that back to my savings on payday. I have fallen overboard a couple of times and bought things I didn't strictly need, but overall I've been much more aware of what I'm spending, and I'm really pleased with how little I've been spending on food. I can see some spaces starting to appear in the kitchen cupboards. I think that like a lot of us it's been an eye-opener to see how much more I can squeeze out of my pay packet when I don't fritter the money away. So - I'm going to keep going, onward and upward! My next challenge is to buy new bedroom curtains and pay for those with NO dipping!

    Happy no spending, all.

Only my second post on here, but I have been reading along with you all. I won't join in the hanger challenge as I'm pretty good with my wardrobe and am quite ruthless at putting things in the charity shop bag. I have got 3 'new' things this month which a friend was clearing out as they don't fit her any more and which found their way to me. The only clothes I have bought so far this year is a jumper from M!S half price that I nearly bought full price, and a pair of pants for £1 :rotfl:

I'm doing pretty well with this, the majority of my spends are planned, the ones that aren't planned are well considered so I'm happy with that.

I do have a bit of an ongoing problem though and it's related to not buying it. At work we have a brand name coffee counter, I never buy anything there but I have a walk every morning and afternoon with a couple of friends from my team who do. I get a free drink from the machines. One of the women who works on the counter has been making comments on a daily basis about me never buying anything for weeks now, even to the extent of announcing to the whole queue that I don't buy anything. Today, I've been nearly in tears twice over it. She's embarrassing and upsetting me about this and I feel the time has come to say something. I just want her to stop, I shouldn't have to feel I have to justify what I do or don't spend my money on. So, wish me luck please in putting a stop to this :(

Turtle, thats horrendous for you! Its descended into harrassment, and you have every right to spend or not spend as you see fit, quite right. My first thought that comes to mind is a complaint to HR or the manager of the shop, my second is simply to say to her "Whats your problem?". She sounds like a bully, and she knows she's unsettling you - can your friends help you with standing up to her?

    Very best of luck xxx
