I honestly wouldnt be doing any of this, the de cluttering and the non spending if it werent for this thread, if I did, it would be at a slower pace
I used to be really bad for buying fruit, it would all be used though, but now if I want to pick something up I think, am I going to eat it now, if so I buy it, if not I think, do I already have fruit in the house, if so, I dont buy it until the rest is finished
Its the small things that make you change your ways.
I also saw the neighbour who gave me grief last week, not a peep from her, in fact she looked a bit sheepish, Im assuming the housing have told her not to harass me and thats good enough for me, no desire to get into any aggravation or see someone get into real bother, just getting on with my life peacefully, thats enough.
My family have had a very stressful time since 2011, hopefully this is it over now, onwards and upwards.0 -

Had a good day decluttering, sorted some paperwork out. Had a pile for recycling, a pile for burning on the fire and a large bag of things for CS. Have nearly finished Konmari book but haven't quite followed her advice. I started with underwear, socks and tights. Wow do my drawers look amazing, so impressed. I should have started with my tops but I have too many, most of which do not fit but I want to lose weight so I am giving myself until July to get sorted.
We are going away in July so if they don't fit by then I will have to send them to the CS.
DH and I were sorting some of our books we have over 20 books which we have bought but not read. We agreed to not to buy anymore until we have read what we have we both put a book we didn't enjoy into the CS bag today. Feel so much better about it.
We have started using the same greeting cards each year I don't mind and DH has such bad taste in cards that now he has found 1 I like it would be a shame to spoil his run..
I am due a pay increase at the end of the month so instead of waiting I have set up a monthly DDR for investment. I want to retire in 5 years so I thought start saving anything extra that comes my way. If I haven't had the cash I cannot spend it. We are still paying extra off the mortgage each month and should have completed that between 4-5 years if not before.

I read somewhere that the best way to declutter your wardrobe is to turn all the hangers the wrong way round. Then as you wear items you can hang them up the way you normally would. If after a year you still have clothing hanging on the hangers that are the wrong way round it is time for them to go as you have definitely not worn them within one whole year!!
Can't remember where I read that or when. If it was on here I am sorry for repeating it but on the other hand my post might jog a few shipmates memories in to doing this.
I am having some wardrobes built at the moment. Yay!!! Wardrobes after living here for 6 years!!! So when I finally get to put all of our clothes in I am going to put them all in with the hanger hook facing outwards. It will be interesting to see if it works!!
Who else is up for the challenge???? Come on Candygirl, us veggies have got to stick together!! :rotfl:This could be fun!!!

Good morning everyone been reading but haven't posted for a bit so pleased with my overall spending last month my new month starts from 15 feb -14th march so hoping to keep going the same way, this thread helps me keep on the straight and narrow, I have been having shopping delivered once a week on a Saturday and not spending anything in between this works well for me, if I run out of something I have been adapting meals, baking and what I am so pleased about using all my leftovers up each week so no waste, also managed to send a large chunk off credit card, paid into my ISA, set up a holiday 2016 fund for taking family away. Been decluttering done my clothes, makeup shoes etc and kitchen so far start on photos got boxes and boxes that need sorting out why years ago did we think ordering two sets of everything was a good idea?
Everyone seems to be doing so well think we can all give ourselves a big pat on the backFrugal challenge 2025

Edwink!!
What a good idea! As long as you remember the date on which you turned all the hangers the wrong way round !! I suppose you stick a Post-It reminder somewhere on the inside of your wardrobe? I suspect some of my clothes have been hanging there longer than that. Time just passes very quickly and there are always those "posher" items which rarely get an opportunity for an outing so wouldn't get worn often anyway. I tend to wear certain favourite items much of the time so this would act as a reminder to ring the changes.0
