Thanks ivyleaf,it had me baffled.
We are having steak n chips at home for Valentines day.We send the same card every year,it's 5 this year.I have bought MrV some fancy coffee and a small thing of chocolate because he is down in the dumps at the moment.Mainly the stress of the responsibility of his Mother since his Dad died last year. She is not an easy person and he is an only child.

I love this idea. I am going to get a card today, and then afterwards carefully put both away for next year.
It's a bit like us naming the turkey at christmas - last one we had was Brian XXII :rotfl: (not the same turkey, mind)

I couldn't sit down to iron, i have a gammy hip and lower back so if i sit too long i end up with a limp. I stand at the machine to sew too. Which reminds me i have 2 lots of bunting i want to make, 3 hanging heart pomanders and a wee summer dress...best fire it up today0

I got the idea of resending the card from an old lady who had been sending the same cards with her husband all their married life.New sentiments are added over the years.
We do the same with birthday,Christmas,Mothers day,Fathers day.I keep them all in a plastic wallet.I have told my Mum that I am going to do the same with her cards from this year. She has already had her birthday,Mothers day coming up.

I used to use up oatssosimple with plain oats to make up Twinks hobnobs - the apple one was particularly good.
DD was delighted with the seat for a dining chair I re covered and it fits perfectly so I have the rest of them (five) to do as well as putting fabric over foam slabs for window seats for her.
Looks as if I am going to be busy"This site is addictive!"

I've done my first DIY haircut. Well, a mostly DIY haircut, got Mum to run her W@hl clippers up the back with a number 3 guard on them. Then I washed it and wet cut it with proper hairdressing scissors. It's a gamine crop, suits my mug, although I'm no Audrey Hepb*rn.
:T I do have to say that I have paid good money for much worse haircuts and feel pretty darned smug about it. Don't look like Wurzel G and haven't had to go to the blinking hairdresser and haven't spent any money, either. Result!
I can't stop smiling, it's incredibly empowering.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Phone to say we didn't want payments reduced but wanted to reduce the term. Oh says the nice lady, it must be a big enough payment to reduce the term by one month before they will do that! Grrrr, so in our current case that means around £350.
I guess I will have to hold onto small over payments until enough to make it worth their while. It feels like they are trying to make it as difficult as possible to reduce the term.:mad::mad:
Hi Busymum, you might have seen my rant about my mortgage company also changing my payments after overpaying - I was livid too. Just wanted to say, it might be worth doing some sums and finding out if the benefit of your £100 overpayments straight away each month, rather than saved up for 3-4 months, outweighs a reduction of 2p per month (it probably does but depends on size/term etc of mortgage). If you will be tarting your mortgage to another provider at some point to get a better deal, you will also be able to reduce the term then - The important thing is your balance is still going down. All depends how close you are to end of term too, but feel free to PM me if you want any help with it (by no means an expert though!).NST September: SFD 17/20, food £62.87/£60, travel £61.55/£40, Outings £39.80/£100, Allotment £7.17/£30 Other: £42.32, Meditation ?/30.
