  • I'm so pleased I'm not the only sitting-down ironer :) it really does help if you suffer with joint pain and as you can watch t.v. at the same time its 'multi-tasking ' :):):) My kitchen smelt gorgeous this morning as I had done a rice pudding overnight in the SC,so puddings are sorted for several days I always put a good shake of cinnamon in it to 'spice' it up a bit as I am not keen on too much sugar
Have a great day what ever you are doing and keep those purses closed :):):)

I'm a bit slow today so have just realised it's Valentines Day on Saturday.:o I haven't got anything planned and we don't have any money to buy anything special as we don't have any money left in the account that isn't spoken for!:D

It looks like it will just be a home cooked dinner and some time together. I do have some candles and I did find a white satiny nightdress while I was decluttering. He will probably think it's new as I haven't worn it in about three years. Hope it still fits lol.

  • We are having a home cooked roast dinner for Valentine's Day, the joint of ham has been in the freezer since Christmas, so only need to buy potatoes, carrots and some yorkie puds. I make my ham in the slow cooker with cola, it is delicious!

I hate the nonsense of valentines day and the overpricing in restaurants, we are happy at home with a film to watch and some tasty grub :) xx

:) Just realised that I need a gift and card and giftwrap and a tag and was able to source all the appropriate things from the stash. Smug as a bug in a rug.

Hi Weesmiler (love the name by the way)

We are doing the same. Nice roast dinner at home!! We don't go out either as I think restaurants charge so much for special Valentines meals!!

I love my hubbie and my hubbie loves me. We tell each other often so have no need to say it in an expensive card, or with red roses that have been force grown in time for Valentines day that have no scent to them, or go out for an expensive meal!!

Hoorah for a good old roast dinner!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh s@ntander are sneaky so and sos! Letter confirming £100 over payment arrived bit says we now reduce your monthly payments by 2p!! Phone to say we didn't want payments reduced but wanted to reduce the term. Oh says the nice lady, it must be a big enough payment to reduce the term by one month before they will do that! Grrrr, so in our current case that means around £350.
I guess I will have to hold onto small over payments until enough to make it worth their while. It feels like they are trying to make it as difficult as possible to reduce the term.:mad::mad:

Rosiepup - can you mix the oatsosimple with plain oats to make them more palatable? It'll take longer to use them up, but should also limit your sugar intake.

Hadn't thought of that! Thank you :-) To be honest I've just been trying to get through them as fast as I can. I can't even donate any to the food bank because they're past their best before date. I think I'll just open all the packets in a particular flavour, sieve as much sugar out as I can and put them into a container mixed with an equal portion of plain oats....definitely a plan!

Vodkawitch1, I think your DD deserves a treat after what she's been through.
