you should start a blog or something about this - I'd be really interested in reading about what you are doing!:happylove0 -
Number 94 Use free sites for kindle books as library is temporarily closed and it costs now to go to others (or go when I am doing something else nearby)
Still trying to get myself together and motivated but the mojo simply isn't around at the moment.
Sounds as though everyone is doing well, another NSD for meDon't get it perfect - Get it goingBetter Than Before0 -

I'm doing this. All the money has gone on the heating/hot water (still need upstairs rads replaced/moved), knocking through a wall, taking down trees, upgrading the electrics (still have half the house to do), new windows (ouch), redoing lead on roof valleys. I have budget left for the bathrooms, but am resigned to living in a building site for some time to come.
The house was SO disgusting when I moved in that I took out all the carpets and all the kitchen units.
I have scrounged flooring (vinyl from someone who puts up/takes down stands at trade fairs; carpet offcuts from people moving/taking carpet out/putting new carpets in - in fact I have two new pieces arriving shortly from someone changing colour) so that I have something on the floors other than concrete and boards while I do the house up.
I've also scrounged everyone's leftover paint, and this week have covered over the acid yellow in the dining room with two different shades of white, and the dirty paint in the hall with another two lots of white. There are a couple of tins that have enough to do one coat of a whole room, so I'm using up the dregs to cover over what's already there.
Oh... and tiles... I have boxes of tiles in the garage that are left over from other people's bathrooms/kitchens.
So rehome what you can from other people. Even if it is for the first round of temporary 'making it bearable' while you do the proper work. I'm assuming that like me, you may take several years to get to the stage where you can decorate properly...
I'm currently on the lookout for some temporary kitchen units as I can't cope with my cooking facilities much longer, so I want to put in an eye-level oven and a separate hob. Preferably ones that work :cool:0 -
Hi guys
The vet has recommended she has the lump removed, n sent off for analysis, due to where it's positioned, as it would become uncomfy for her as it grew:( So she's having the op on Wed:eek: Thanks for all your kind wishes :A
Hi Candy
Hope all goes well for your little dog on Weds!! Aww bless her!! Please let us know how it all goes. I hate it when animals have to stay at the vets because they just do not understand what is going on!! Bet she will be so pleased to see you when you go and pick her up!!
I took on another rescue hen today, poor little thing! Her 16 feathered friends were killed by a fox over the weekend at a friends house. She was the only one that got away by flying up high on a fence and staying there. Her owner brought her round to us today as she is traumatised, also hens hate being on their own. She is now snuggled up with my hens in her new secure hen hotel equipped with night heater and lots of snuggling up with all my hens. Bless her!!!

candygirl I hope the results of tests come back OK. when my old girl had to stay at the vets she was so fussed over and spoilt that ever after she pulled to get into the vets for some more!! The only dog I have had that WANTED to go to the vets. Just think - if it weren't for your furgal habits supported by this board then you would be in great difficulties to find the monies to treat her. hope all goes well for you and your pup. Hi candy girl hope your pup is ok. We have a 17 year old still going strong. He wouldn't win any beauty contests now but we love him. He loves the cold nights in front of a log fire.
NSD today, started the new job and was very busy couldn't sleep last night thinking about what needs doing. Hopefully tonight will be a bit better. Just keep thinking of the extra cash and how I will be able to pay more off the mortgage. Last weeks MSE programme really hit a nerve. My saving rates are poor so it seems the best thing we can do is attack the mortgage.
Snowed tonight on the way home I cannot believe I forgot to put a coat in my car. Good job I didn't break down......
Still emptying the freezer, fish pie tonight, mince out for spaghetti bolognese for tomorrow. I cannot believe how full it is. Should help stretch the budget.

Ended up as a spendy day yesterday - getting supplies to make christmas presents (that's dominoes and jewelry findings and baubles) for a total of £51.70 - but that is for 15 people, so it's not too bad. I know it's early to be thinking about christmas but I just fancied starting work on the next tasks.
Sky comes out today for £21.50.0 -
Woken up and everywhere covered in snow. Have had the snow lately but not this much. Shall build a snowman later!!
Got first shop of the month today and hope to keep within our budget of £50 which included hubbies 2 weekly bottles of wine. Store cupboards and freezer are a little low after using food up in January so might struggle a bit budget wise. Will post back later to tell all!!
Keep safe everyone!!!!!

We had a couple of unexpected expenses (including a death which we had to give money towards flowers for the funeral) so we have only put away £800 into the ISA instead of the £1,100 I think was what I had hoped for. We are still not up to £14,000 but we will be on payday which is only in a few weeks, actually in 15 days.:D
I need to get back on track. I am going to look over the tips for money saving on here again. I actually cannot believe how little some people on here spend on groceries each month as we tend to spend the most in that part of the budget!
No spend day today, I am planning on having a snuggly day as it's not snowing and settling but it is cold.HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000
