NOT BUYING IT! 2015 - A consumer holiday

I had to send some money abroad (an investment gone badly wrong) and remembered a previous mse member told me of a company called Transferwise. They seem to be a genuine company, I've been monitoring them for ages, so today, I took the plunge. No fees (because it was my first use of them) and the exchange rate was better than my bank by nearly 5 cents a euro! That really adds up.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hi All
Not buying it worked well for me this month-so well I managed to pay off credit card(was over 1k) and prepay off my subscribe and save for Feb. Normally there would still be 500-600 still left on it.
Hopefully now I can keep it down as I put very little on it in January and I have to go Part Time in Work from the end of Feb so need to keep Not Buying It!NOT BUYING IT 2018!
Consumerism is.....buying things you don't need with money you don't have to impress people you don't know and probably wouldn't like even if you did know them.0 -
Hi folks,
I was really good today, didn't go out at lunch time to buy food! I normally take my sandwiches to work and go out to buy soup from a cafe but today I used a tin of soup that's been in my drawer for ages. I've got 3 or 4 portions of home made soup in the freezer and maybe 4/5 more tins in the cupboard which will do me the rest of this week. I will make a big pot of carrot and coriander soup next weekend to see me through a couple of weeks.
After the morning I had at work, I would have wanted to be out buying chocolate too, but I resisted, had a biscuit from my drawer stash instead
I'm getting my hair cut tonight so it won't really be a NSD. That will be £20, but is badly needing done so I don't mind, I normally only get my hair cut 2 or 3 times a year because I'm happy with it growing long, so it's not a regular expense. Although, I might start adding £5 a month onto my budget for hair cuts, then the money will be sitting there when I need it. I'm lucky to have red hair that doesn't need dyed either, but I have a rather expensive shampoo habit...I'll leave that for another day.....
Ciao for now xxxAll you need is less0 -
Hi guys
The vet has recommended she has the lump removed, n sent off for analysis, due to where it's positioned, as it would become uncomfy for her as it grew:( So she's having the op on Wed:eek: Thanks for all your kind wishes :A

Also managed to get a brand new pyrex dish, barbie clock for DGD 2 pine photo frames, n 2 books for £3.50 from the charity shop :j"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

A £10 grocery spend today as needed dishwasher tablets and a few other bits. I sold £38 of stuff on the local Facebook site though, so made a profit. We've now packed as much as we can really and still be comfortable, so am hoping to get a moving date fixed. Then begins the process of doing up a house that really needs doing up, on a budget.0

Aww Candygirl, hope the op goes well on Wednesday. My old dog had to have surgery when she was nearly 16 and I was so worried about her, but when I went to collect her she was running round my legs like a puppy! ('Get me out of here, Mum! Take me home!')Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and adventure.Oliver Sachs 20150
