  • Hi - quick update

Decluttered SW and lost another 1.5lb - supposed to be trying to stay the same!!
Been to museum and sorted book supports for all fiction books.
Spent too much at the market on wool - best keep my usual volunteer day a non-market one next year or I'll be permanently broke!!
Warmed up with a cuppa and should now be getting on.

HHI at 2:45 anyone followed straightaway by HHC?

Shopping was a big waste of time, no nearer for Christmas presents, I hate shopping.

Aga has gone out so no dinner either, hoping it will heat up soon.

love the stockings! they look like lots and lots of work ;)

managed to submit my small earnings NI exemption last night hurrah:j:j:j

Narc0lepsy - I think the fact that my income was only £183 from 4 classes last year helped with the speed of it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I've done a quite a bit more this year unfortunately - reminder to self - must budget for tax bill next year...... I'm pretty canny with my expenses and allowables so hopefully will only pay around a tenner in tax for 13/14 ;) Every penny to the treasury counts though right? :money:

kids are all virusy and obstreperous and miserable so I'm going to aim for a swift bedtime. Wish me luck.

Going to have a quick once over downstairs - LR/hall/stairs hoovered and hallway/downstairs loo mopped yesterday so I'm a bit ahead of the game today:cool: Must get a wash on too.

mamaninie, when I went self-employed I saved 30% of my gross earnings every month to cover tax, insurance, etc, and each year when I received my tax bill I always had a nice little lump sum left over to do whatever I wanted - I usually saved half and spent half on a treat. And of course the money was saved in an ISA which paid me a decent amount of interest tax-free :mse:

Mrs-mp, I love the stockings too! Your adopted class is very lucky.

Narcolepsy, I'm not on anything except will-power, and I had precious little of that last week with the dark days, but the Advent lights cheer me up and I know that I have simply got to get this work done somehow. I've slept better this week, too, which helps a lot.

    Dusty, I hate shopping too.

Have just spent £200, mainly on food for the storecupboard and freezer - but I didn't do a big shop last week, so had run down all my stocks of fresh fruit and veg, and there were some very good offers and yellow stickers on things in Sa1n$bug$ that I can freeze or store for the new year, by which time I shall be penniless ;) I bought two tiny gifts for DS2 and DDiL2 to open with the rest, but their main present is theatre tickets for Stratford so I'm not risking them getting lost among the wrapping paper and general mayhem!

I must finish putting away, drink a cuppa and cook oven chips so that DH can go out at 7.00. Maybe it would be a good idea to do the chips first....
  • Yesterday I managed to keep up with the kitchen as I had already washed the floor Sunday morning.

Today, I have managed to hoover the living room floor and hallway, and did the stairs last night. Will get going on the coffee table in a minute. Trying to keep up with work as well at the moment (I work from home) and December looks like it's going to be VERY busy :T.

I'm here in body if not in spirit. Been awake since 3.30 and not fit for an awful lot, really. Decluttered a day at work, only 7 left this year and 2.5 of those are travelling about. It's getting a bit hair-raising to get stuff finished. Yikes. Have flagged up a few things wi boss man today so should be ok.

We are actually quite tidy here but my floors are beyond grim. If inlaws take the kiddies swimming tomorrow night I'll do them then.

DS just back from his friends (says he's starving :o he's now got a ham wrap and some cheese to tuck into), and I think I might be going to bed shortly after the children do :o

Managed to do a small grocery shop on way home, only needed a few bits but also popped into |3uild a |3ear for a sleeping beauty dress. DD has a naked bear, and granny has got DD the sleeping beauty dress for Xmas so I thought she might like one for her bear too. Just to collect a book for DS, then I'm done. Mum has sorted a hamper for the overseas brother so I need to pay her for that, and put some money in the girls accounts, then I'm done! Woot!

Might get the outdoor lights up tomorrow (WFH) to surprise the kiddies after school...

Sticks for LW and healing vibes for virusy kids, friends, mums, aunts and anyone else in need.

Right, we're on the road to bed time...
