    Afternoon all

Efy - healing vibes to your DH
pigpen - getting there and back safety vibes for OH and calming vibes for you
Mrs M-P- congratulations on the raffle win and the stockings are lovely (have knitting envy!)
HB - hope Mrs Dog is ok x

Flying yesterday did not consist of much flying. I made veggie lasagne and then tidied ish the kitchen after.

Have a new window cleaner cleaning the windows today, they've not been done in almost a year as my original window cleaner (and neighbour 3 doors up) was asked in April to do them and never did. About 30 mins after booking new window cleaner, there was a knock at the door - old window cleaner! He has a new wash and reach system and was waiting until he got it as my bay window is sash. He was finding cleaning it was time consuming as there are knooks and cranies. To his credit he did apologise for not saying something earlier. It's a shame as he's a nice guy, but if you don't communicate with your customers, you'll lose them.

    To do list:

    Buy birthday card
Check xmas decs - can't remember what ornaments I've got
Write xmas cards - I only send them to those people I don't see regularly and family.

    Have a great afternoon all

    Wow it's cold out!

But it's gloriously sunny. Just popped to town (there and back in <40min :T) and the atmosphere is really festive. Shop staff were very jolly, people milling around in hats and mitts chatting. Really nice, it may not be the most affluent part of Britain, but it must be one of the friendliest today :)

Bought few Xmas cards for posting (I only send a very few, mostly to people who live far away and I don't see, hate just writing 3 names on them :(). Also some vinegar spray. Few dots of mildew on DS window frame  so just been up to squirt. Few mini decs for our mini tree, and some choc lolly moulds.

Oh and a mulled wine candle - might have that on my desk actually :)

Couple of hours work then I may get the garden vac out...

Got a nice stash of books from oxfam bookshop for the kids as presents - some fab hardbacks are only 20p in there -obviously only read once. Ordered some cricket stuff online and have written a list of things I still need to get but not too many gaps now - I'll start to think about others now (like to get my boys done first).

Cuppa next and then some flying and still some condensation to dry up.

Hugs and good wishes to everyone - lots of ops, worry, illness and general need of friends for many of you.

I gained a bit of time today as my 1pm student is ill and let me know well before I left home. Determined not to waste it, and inspired by Ionafan and others, I have now achieved:
    - business emails
    - booked in some resources which arrived yesterday so I know immediately where the invoices etc are for next year's tax return.
    - blitzed the (previously decluttered on whatever day it was) long kitchen worktop and all which rests thereon. Now I am embarrassed; how many of you have had to use a palette knife to scrape the grease off a toaster? No I thought not. Mortified. Anyway, after that I wiped over the kitchen kettle, front of dw and wm and a few cupboards - none of which were as bad as the toaster thankfully.
    - I keep a small tray next to the kettle with a coffee canister and teapot on. All are now sparkly and the coffee canister refilled. I could say that I was waiting for it to be empty before I gave it a good wash but I don't lie.
    - swept kitchen floor AGAIN didn't I do that last week? But now mopped, and mat which goes in front of the aga is now soaking.
    - vacuumed hall, dining room, lounge and stairs.
    - remembered to get mince out of freezer for tonight's lasagne; had wondered whether I'd get it part cooked while free electricity (sun out and consider myself strong-minded having avoided scrapping the housework for gardening). However I need to leave at 2pm for a student at pm, so won't have time.
    - have overseas cards by front door ready to post on the way to uni.

    Lunch now.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

Clean the loo and the bath and the shower and the basins! Done at weekend, with Mr LW's help (I can't move the bath-lift by myself) - we don't have a 2nd loo.
    Only got 30 minutes...
Defragment PC and run spyware scans while scrubbing All 3 (that is, pc, laptop and netbook) defragged and scanned earlier this week
Clear your desk, wipe it and only put back what belongs there Tomorrow.... most of what's on there is Daisy's and she's going home tomorrow.
    Got an hour ....

Wipe any dusty places in these rooms, on top of cabinets etc Done
Hoover and wash the floors Done
    Extras
Replace any sponges/flannels/toothbrushes etc that need it Done recently; Mr LW desperately needed a new flannel.
Throw out any empty bottles.. decant dribbles into fuller bottles N/A - I keep this done as a matter of course as I can't abide dribbles in the bottom of bottles. - make sure your have enough stock of everything to last the month, including tissues and cold relief, don't forget the cream for the Rudolf nose - festive but sore Checked last week, to ensure Mr LW has a supply of L3msip available (I can't take OTC cold remedies)

Time to get dressed up for the Arctic and take Daisy for her walk now.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
