FGB meeting decluttered, now on the wine and chocolate.

Not done a whole load of flying today but a little is better than none and it was inset day.

New cat rehoming person coming on Wednesday to discuss kitten(s)
Spoke to Mum who saw the surgeon today, they will not operate until January and not until she has had various tests and seen the anesthetist about her heart problems; talk of putting her in ITU afterwards which is a tad scary to say the least.

    Shopping tomorrow with a friend.

Wednesday need to try to visit friend in hospital (reconstruction not gone swimmingly 14+ hours in surgery and they are not sure the one side has circulation so could be another op - please flyers fingers crossed for her, it has been such a tough journey and if it could go wrong it did).

DS2 not feeling well. He has his first tutoring client tomorrow too.

Best I put a list up for anybody remotely interested, capable etc but no pressure peeps, it certainly won't get done here.

Dusty fingers crossed for your friend. ITU with your mum, just sounds like they are covering all bases.
LW sticks for your BD. You're amazing and I enjoy reading your posts x

Thanks for all your suggestions re my Dad. I'm hurt he didn't acknowledge he'd hurt me. But my 2 choices - either that's it or we draw a line, forget about it and move on, doesn't address the issue. He either doesn't realise or just doesn't care and I'm not sure which one it is. My mum said he's a carp father (first time she's ever voiced her opinion on him, they divorced when I was 6). Maybe the problem is me? Maybe I have expectations of him, that he just can't fulfil?

    Anyway, flying:

    DW on and emptied
    Washing up done
    Counter tops wiped
    Table cleared of some items
Dry washing put in the ironing basket

    Goodnight all

All over the place today so very off-list. But:
    - One load of dw emptied and put away.
    - Dinner cooked, eaten and any non-dw washing up done.
    - Wrote difficult letter - not unpleasant difficult, but we sponsor a lad through school in India and it's hard to find things to write to a 16 yr old boy whose 1st language isn't English. They like getting letters and photos we are told (a friend runs the charity and visits the school most years), but how interesting can a Western couple in their 50s/60s sound? Anyway it is done.
    - Desk is now clear. Shall I say that again? CLEAR.
    - more general Excel-ing of downloaded bank statements organised fit for tax return. Sounds like you will beat me to it Mamaninie.
    - Yet another student referral from uni; emailed her to arrange tuition.
    - various phone calls to arrange transport with 2 friends as we're going to flower club Xmas demo tomorrow eve.

that's about it. Not fantastic but not terrible.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

    Hi all,
Haven't caught up with the thread but just a quick update to say my lovely mum wiped down the sides in the kitchen, emptied the dw and put the washing on the airers while I was at work. I have done ..... Nothing! Apart from going for a run and schoolwork tonight. Switched off the laptop at 10.30!

Elf antics update- snowflake arrived yesterday and was put to bed in his stocking under the Christmas tree. In the morning we found him reading Christmas stories to the toys. He has been into school with ds1 today and will be going to nursery with ds2 tomorrow. Tonight, he is having a tea party with Santa. Eating lots of chocs!! What a naughty elf!
He might have to do something a bit more adventurous tomorrow. Last year we were organised and wrote a list but it is all a bit adhoc this year!

It's Elf Magic. We have two "teddy" elves come to stay for advent that come alive at night and get up to all sorts. They have their photo taken which somehow appears on my Facebook feed. Sometimes they are naughty (hanging pants on the Xmas tree) and sometimes they are nice (setting the table for breakfast). They go back to Santa on Xmas eve to write the children's names on the naughty list, or the nice list!

They bring advent calendars on the 1st and leave a mini hamper on the 24th (new pjs, DVD, treats)

Tonight they are going to be good and sweep up I think... (I could use the help, my floors are grotty)
OOh that's lovely for the sprogs and I see Frizzle does it as well. I wish we'd had an idea like that when mine were little.

Morning all. Was up at 3.30 with LittleyDog although she seems a little better this morning so I've given her a few spoonfuls of rice.

Early start at the paid stuff today, so I'm just going to whizz round the block and then maybe I'll have half hour to look at the list before I start.

    Have a great day everyone.

Firstly Deco - hugs sweetie it is definitely not about you. It is absolutely fine to expect people to treat us well, we should not make excuses for other's poor behaviour. Give yourself time to think and decide. I don't think just leaving it is going to be helpful for you right now. Can you imagine how you would like things to be, if you could say whatever you needed to what would you say? Try imagining yourself as a child and your Dad as a child. Get your child to ask your Dad child why he behaves as he does? Ask your child why it hurts so much?

Mogs fed, cuppa made. Moving on to making DS1's lunch and loading the WM whilst ensuring DS3 is getting up and DH is in the shower.

Great phrase in a report to Governors last night - emerging issues - my family seem to hae these everyday.
