do you air your bed?

  • I leap out of bed at 4.30 am to shut the alarm up as quickly as possible, flinging the duvet off in the process, and it stays like that till I go to bed again. I suppose you would call it inadvertant airing.

I leave mine all day most of the time, but yes I'd say half an hour will do the job:D I just like the bed to be as cold as possible when I get into it. I know I'm weird:o

Ooooh no I like that to....... mind I'm weird too so you may have a point after all :o

I just usually pull the bed sheets down and then make the bed after breakfast etc. Usually 1/2 to 1hr I suppose. I like a warm bed in winter and usually put the hot water bottle in first.

Churchmouse You can put icy water in the hot water bottle too and shove it in your bed. That should cool things down considerably. :D

I have a duvet and 2 pillows. I fling the duvet to the end of the bed and turn the pillows over and leave it that way while I'm at work. I don't like coming home to an unmade bed visually, but it only takes a minute to fling everything back into place and I prefer to have an aired bed. At weekends, I'll leave it an hour or so.

I usually fling the duvet down the bottom end of the bed when I get up and our bedroom windows are always open - only closed if there is a horrid torrential rainstorm and there is risk of the rain getting in my bedroom.
OH makes the bed if he is last up but that's only at the weekend (I get up after him on the days he's home as he gets grumpy if I get in the way when he's getting ready... old git :rotfl:) keep trying to convince him to help me flip the matress as I can't do it on my own - bloody kingsize thing!

I do leave the duvet folded back most of the day but won't open windows when I'm leaving for work - just do this at weekends. I'm not sure how much good it does tho cos the sun beats in on the bed for most of the morning, maybe I'm just making things worse :)
  • Another one here who pulls back the duvet and opens the windows. I usually let it air for an hour or so before making the bed.

Even got my DD to do it now (bless!) ;)

I always try and air the bed, by folding duvet down as far a possible and the windows are always open all night and day. OH doesn't do anything to the bed and will not open the curtains either no matter what day it is, he has no idea i air the bed or if i make it at all, he just knows it is there to sleep in!! LOL

  • I must admit that we air the bed daily. Once up, the windows are open and the quilt pulled right back and pillows flipped. After breakie the bed is made. I find it keeps the fresh smell longer but is washed weekly anyway.
