^^As i have said on another thread in the past, come rain or shine or snow, I always leave the window open: and I sleep far better that way. What would deter me: strong gales (perhaps) ;)

  • I don't have a duvet any more... they just make me feel too hot, even the low tog ones and something about the weight and feel of it round me doesn't feel right. I'm a bit odd as I just have a fleecy blanket and a throw ( and a big teddybear fur throw for when its bitterly cold ) - no top sheet ! I air the bed every day even if its very cold - have the windows open for varying lengths of time - and also pin the pillows up on the washing line about once a week to air out too.

As spmeone in her early sixties I was always brought up to air the bed for a short while before making it. Most of the "get yourself organised" sites (eg Flylady) say you should make it at once as you get out - even make your own half if your partner is still in there! So, just wondering what others do?

I never make my bed. I have duvets on the bed for most of the year and they're turned back in the mornings and left like that until I go back to bed again.

I have duvets and also believe in airing the bed, not trapping the old body heat and moisture in it.

So, BitterAndTwisted, you are in effect airing it? The websites I've been glancing at would encourage you to get out and pull the duvet straight over again.

Yes, airing the bed is the purpose. If I was a proper German like my Mum I'd have the duvet hanging out of the bedroom window for a couple of hours every day. The only reason I don't do that is because the windows don't open wide enough.
