Hi all, thanks for the replies.
It is not, that I forget to put them on regularly. Normally I check light now and again during driving, if I have put them on.
Yesterday was the second time (and the longest distance wise), since I forgot to put them on. I will have to check everything, when I'm moving of the same as I do, before I leave parked car. Just in different order.0 -

Some things you just get in the habit of, If I go in the car whilst it's in the garage and not going anywhere I still find I put the seat belt on , I've had auto lights on the last two cars, but the preveios car to those I always had the lights on November -March on every trip.0 -
That really is a terrible idea. Instead, get the the habit of using the wall to check your tail lights and brake lights. That way, your lights are on, your brake lights work, and you didn't park the wrong way around without a decent reason.Easily done when you leave a well-lit area like a garage or carpark. If you find you do this often, try parking facing a wall or fence whenever you can. Yes, you'll have to reverse out every time, but you can then easily see whether your lights are on or off.

All three of my cars including a 1998 Peugeot have beeped at me telling me my lights are still on when I open the door!
I've got a 13 plate Kia Picanto and I was shocked to find that there are no beeps to warn me about the lights. Although the bright green dash lights should be enough to warn me really, I guess.
My husband has a C-max and I can't stand driving it. It has proximity sensors and it beeps if so much as a bloody wasp flies anywhere near it!"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
Slightly off-thread but this reminds me of when I owned an old car (older than I was at the time) and when returning from London to Cambridge one night with a few friends one of them asked, as we left the street lights and entered the dark countryside, why I didn't switch on the headlights. My reply was that they WERE on.0

Note, in case anyone has ever wondered. Nissan Micras don't come with headlights, they come with two tea lights glued to the bonnet........“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Ever driven a calibra?
I fitted 100w bulbs to the front fogs and always had them on so I could see anything, no one ever flashed me.0 -
^^ I was talking about whenever I see them driving toward me. They might as well have no lights on at all.
In truth I suspect either the cars headlight controls are REALLY confusing, OR all Micra drivers a f**king idiots.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Sounds like a good idea and far better than you killing or disabling someone because you "forgot". With driving comes responsibility.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

A lot of the old black cabs drive round on sidelights, is a job to see them - guess they think they're saving fuel.0
