Forced myself to do a 2.5k run this morning. I've overindulged on wine and cookies over the last few days so had to get back to it! My leg hurt after but not too bad. Also worked out for half an hour when I got home so I've managed cardio and strength training which is fab. Have just done a few chores, nothing else to report really. Am watching films on Netflix before a bath and fake tan session lol.0

Had to take my guinea pig to the vet today. He's had a lump on him for some months which they've looked at before and told me to leave, but it's getting bigger so it has to come off
I have £245 in my vet fund and this will probably cost £200, maybe more. Sooooo back to square one on the old vet fund front yet again! But it has to be done, and that's what the vet fund is there for. I'll focus on putting back into it every month.
Not much else to report. No spends apart from food and petrol this week so far (and the vet). No spends planned until Saturday, OH and I will go for a coffee somewhere on Saturday, but that's it. It should be a very thrifty week overall, no horse riding this week which always helps keep costs down!
So my list of things to save up for post move now looks like this:
1. Vet fund
2. Citizenship and passport
3. Next year's holiday :rotfl:
4. Fixing my tattoo
It'll be good to finally be in a position to save properly without being in debt. Of course I'm not there yet and will still have some debt to clear when we first move so I'll not be abandoning this diary just yet!

Got a possible moving date of 7th September - much quicker than I'd anticipated! Bit panicked as it would've been good to have another month's pay to go towards the fees etc but I've worked out the figures and we'll be okay. Just REALLY not ready
Worked out I'll have somewhere in the region of £700 of debt left to pay once we move, and I'll try and blitz it as fast as possible. First month in the new place will probably be spendy but I'll do my best!
Been to parkrun this morning and ran a 36:34, not as good as last time but it was SO muggy. Chucked it down after we finished! Also been and done all the food shopping for the next week. Off to have tea and cake with OH at midday and then spend the rest of the day chilling. :money:0 -
Was VERY naughty last night and paid for a table on my credit card. It was £26 so I haven't broken the bank but I still shouldn't have done it. The dangers of browsing the internet.... :A I plan to do some decoupage with it for the new house, never tried it before so if it goes wrong I'll have to come up with a plan B. Anyway, I needed to clear my conscience and admit my slip up. I know £26 really isn't the end of the world but it totally could've waited and I need to write about it here as a reminder for the future!!! :money: Be more MSE!0

Worked out I have £25 to last until payday in 9 days time. That includes putting £1 a day into savings and £1 a day paid off my Very account, so in reality i have about £6. Which isn't the end of the world, I plan to have coffee with a friend this weekend and that's it. Horse riding is paid for separately so no dramas there. Have to pay vet fees tomorrow but again, all paid for separately. Just want it to be payday now!0

Oh wow, a moving date already, that's come round quickly. Hope the packing is going well!

Today has been a mixed day. Piggy had his op which went well and he's back at home, looking very grumpy and sorry for himself bless him.
Onto the bad news. The buyer for my flat has decided they want to lower their offer by 5k :mad::mad: Apparently their surveyor said it's worth less than they offered because of some repairs which need doing (but which don't in reality, and even if they did, it wouldn't cost 5k). But my solicitor has heard nothing to confirm this so I don't know if the buyer is trying their luck. Apparently it's not uncommon for people to try this close to completion. I can't take a 5k hit - that's the money I need to clear my credit card, I can't move without clearing my debt. I'm just fuming that they would do this, and could mess up the entire chain. Better still, the buyer is on holiday so can't discuss it until Friday when they return. I've half a mind to tell her to stick it and put the place back on the market :rotfl: Ughhhhhh0 -
I think I would put it back on the market. The housing system in England is so rubbish that it's perfectly legal for people to pull out of house buying right at the last minute. Two can play that game - you got an offer quickly so you may get another one just as quickly.
Pleased the op went well and hope Piggy loves you again soon...Not giving up

Thanks ccl, I'm inclined to do that. I will see what she says once the estate agents speak to her with the info I've given them. Maybe she will be reasonable, maybe not. I'm trying not to worry, what will be will be. I could understand if she had a genuine reason for what she's doing but as far as I can see it's just a tactic, and that's what makes it so frustrating. Guess that's what you get with buy to let investors, it's all business to them! Worst case scenario, it falls through, I pay out some money to the solicitor and start again. This place was a bit more expensive than some others because it's share of freehold and is a bit bigger, so in theory I might find another leasehold place which is cheaper anyway. The buyer needs to realise that I'm not in a desperate position!0
