Very impressed with your kondo-ing. Definitely a good time to do it before moving in with someone else and before moving. I keep looking at everything and thinking do I really want to take that with me? There's so much I want to get rid off but can't because hubby loves his clutter. Have you kondo-ed your kitchen cupboards? That gave me a shock xLoan 1 £5200/£8000

Hi Kitten, I didn't do the kitchen cupboards really, only because OH's parents have some pots and pans to give us so I'm going to wait for that and then get rid of anything I don't need (or which doesn't bring me joy!). OH is good in that he doesn't have much clutter, but he doesn't really believe in the whole 'everything in its place' thing and just leaves things lying around, which irritates me no end!! :rotfl:0 -
I love Kondo-ing, I read the book about 3 times when I first got it. I need to do some more soon. Well done to you on your work.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

I find some of it a bit "silly", like the whole thanking your clothes and your house, and letting your bags rest etc. But I think that's just me, I'm quite cynical. I just focused on the act of tidying and whether I really liked the stuff I was holding on to.
Speaking of which, I've listed 16 things on ebay, no idea if they will sell. If not I'll take the stuff to the charity shop. There are a couple of bits I might keep if they don't sell but don't tell anyone!!
Today has been very exercise based. Did my local parkrun in 37:51, my best time ever. Still came practically last though lol. Need to do this every week in preparation for my 10k in September. I also went riding this afternoon, it was my best lesson for a while and I got a little canter in so very pleased. Just need to hone it now.
Plans for tonight are to just chill out, got a very healthy dinner of warm quinoa salad with halloumi (on the bbc good food website, I highly recommend it!) then I'm just gonna vegetate in front of the tv

Had a little issue with my oven yesterday, the inner glass exploded while I was cooking dinner, so dinner ended up in the bin and I've had to order new glass today, £32 which I hadn't bargained for!! But I'm loathe to use the oven without it just in case.
Also had to pay out £180 to the solicitors today so must update my signature as I now have a little less in the savings pot, but at least it's gone to the very thing it should've.
Sold some DVDs on fleabay, £15 made hopefully. Will put that money towards the oven costs perhaps once it comes through.
Not much else to report, OH and I went for a picnic yesterday and did some geocaching, which was good fun, although we didn't find the last one we wanted!0 -
The fleabay buyer hasn't paid yet, not sure how long to give them? None of my other items even have watchers, it was a bit of a long shot putting some of my old clothes on there so I won't be surprised if they don't sell, I'll just have to take them to the charity shop.
Bit annoyed with h@lifax this morning, basically I paid for my new oven glass late last night using my debit card, and this morning, the money was showing as a pending transaction but they'd charged me £1 for an unplanned overdraft! I do this all the time if I buy things late at night and just transfer money around the next morning and never have an issue. I'm not going to quibble over £1, just going to make a note to always transfer funds around straight away if I buy stuff of an evening/weekend.
Found some kettle bells on offer online today. I was going to buy them anyway this month so it worked out well, I decided to buy them, £17 for two including postage. I'm going to buy a few more bits and then hopefully, provided I keep up my running, I can cut out the gym entirely.
Finally the buyer for my flat is having their survey done tomorrow morning, so I have to hang around while they do it. I'm really paranoid that they'll find some hidden issue which will ruin everything! I'm sure it won't happen but I always have panicky moments about these kinds of things. Just hope everything goes well and we can then get cracking with the sale!0 -
I wish you lots of luck for tomorrow. Where did you get the kettle bells from? I've been wanting to get some too

Hi Florence, they were from Groupon, various different options available for different prices. Amazon also have sets of four but as I only wanted two, this worked out better for me.0 -
Had the survey done on my place this morning. The surveyor was quite amenable but didn't give too much away. I'm probably worrying over nothing I'm sure. I spent some time reading over the early half of my diary while he was doing his stuff, I really did used to keep track of my spends a bit better back then. So I must make more of an effort to start doing that again. Starting now - today has been a NSD. Tomorrow and Friday should be the same hopefully. I've also been paying off £1 each day to my Very account and putting £1 in my legal fees pot too. Just need to keep plugging away.0

Another NSD managed today. During the week I'm really good at not buying lunch or other bits. Although am being quote disciplined in general knowing I have the move coming up at some stage. Should be another NSD tomorrow. Saturday I'll pay for horse riding and probably a small shop but that's it.0
