A new debt free journey

Well I've been to the bank this morning with OH and it's all good news, everything is fine as far as they're concerned so now all I need to resolve is the small matter of finding a buyer for my place. I have four viewings booked in through an agent which also sold my neighbour's flat last week, it only took them 3 days so fingers crossed I can sell mine in a short timescale too! I won't expect the same thing to happen but I'm hoping for a quick sale. I should have enough equity to clear my debts too but we'll see as and when the time comes. In the meantime I've continued saving and have added a few extra pounds to my moving fund. Nothing much else to report, just need to clean the house now ready for viewings :j0

Gah just had my six monthly service charge bill and it's £200 more than what I had in my "service charge" account. Soooooo I had to take £200 from my moving fund to cover it. Ugh. Annoying but it is what it is. I wouldn't mind but I'm pretty sure that half the work that's been billed hasn't been done... Don't want to query it in case they sent someone round again and bill yet again... Just need to hurry up and move! So the moving fund is a little depleted but will do what I can do build it back up again. It currently stands at £373 now.0

£29.80 spent on a train ticket today. 50 minute delay before I'd even left the station (thanks Southern) so will claim for delay repay. So glad I don't have to do this every day!0

Not much to report, glad the work week is over, feeling a little frustrated at having to rely on colleagues at times this week. Finance wise nothing scary lol. House wise I've got people viewing all weekend and interested so that's definitely positive. I've never done so much cleaning in all my life!
Tomorrow I'm going horse riding somewhere new. My usual place says they're really busy so I need to try somewhere different if I'm to improve my riding. I've also got to busy myself elsewhere while the viewings all occur. We're off to a bbq tomorrow evening (weather permitting) and then I'm volunteering on Sunday so that's the weekend pretty much taken care of!
On a slightly positive note, I had a phone call from my car insurance company and they're investigating the person I drove into for a possible fraudulent claim as they think he's exaggerating his injuries. Not sure if I ever mentioned it here but he told his insurance there were four people in the car and all four got whiplash even though the crash was probably 5mph and there were only two people in the car... I don't know, I fully accept that I hit him and that's my fault absolutely 100%. But to lie to try and get free money is just wrong. I hope they're able to prove it if only to restore some faith in the corporate world, even though I know they obviously have their own interests at heart. I'm not even angry at the guy because it's something people have got away with for years so he's obviously just trying his luck. What that means is I'm definitely investing in dash cam and must buy this ASAP!!0 -
Currently have three flat viewings going on so am sitting in my local park outside a cafe with a cold drink. Have a bit of a head cold and would rather be at home relaxing but hopefully something good will come of one of the viewings.
Went horse riding this morning at the new place, first lesson was half price and I really enjoyed it. Have booked another lesson for a fortnight's time.
Am off to a bbq later, need to buy some halloumi for the grill but that's about it, I'll be driving so no alcohol required lol.0 -
Been an extremely busy day volunteering today, am shattered and could do with an extra day in the weekend!
minimal money spent this weekend that wasn't accounted for. Just had to buy some bin bags today and that was it. Back to work tomorrow and another viewing on the flat, it's the last one we have lined up for now. We have had 5 in total so fingers crossed an offer will come from one of them. I've realised that my anxiety and general stress levels have spiked since the flat went on the market. I've been having trouble sleeping and concentrating in general and could do with it all being over!! I get so worried that nobody will make an offer and that people will hate it for whatever reason so the one we've offered on will fall through... It's not easy not being in control to some extent, you're relying on others seeing the same thing you saw originally. But it is what it is and we'll just have to see what happens!

Had an offer on my flat today which I've decided to accept. Am really, really happy about it. Need to sit down again with the bank and go through exactly what my mortgage will cost me and whether I can afford to clear some or all of my debt. Will aim to finalise those details over the next couple of days. All in all, extremely positive :beer:0
