    Hiya
Could I please join too, would love to save £100 for a nice Christmas night out for dh and I as a little treat, we very rarely get a night out together and think it would be a great way to save without feeling guilty over Christmas. Big thanks to all.
    Xx

Of course to can join us. The more the merrier. Sue_UU will be along to give you a number soon, but in the mean time, have a look at the first post on page one and start saving. Welcome :D

I have potted £2.59 today. I feel like I have not potted in ages.

    Back to work tomorrow.

    I hope everyone is well

Over the holidays,we are re-arranging,painting and decorating 3 bedrooms :eek:.So since yesterday, upstairs has been upended, trying to make space in the first room to decorate.Wardrobes are being emptied so they can be disassembled and moved out to allow carpeting-my,the stuff I keep!!Today I have cleaned the walls of said room with sugar-soap.
Anyway, decided to sort through the first shelf in my wardrobe (actually it is a shallow drawer with compartments. In the IKEA brochure,it is beautifully illustrated as containing a handy divider with about 24 different compartments to neatly store little nik-naks such as scarves,jewellery,trinkets,personals,make-up,etc.In Saver-upper's world, the whole thing has been overfilled with children's "Mummy,I made this for you"s,children's teeth in envelopes with dates on,badges from visits to Santa collected over 12 years by 1,2,3 then 4 children, letters to Santa, random notes and pictures from children, children's "Do not open until 2030" letters......)
So,tonight I was sorting through said drawer, and found an assortment of birthday and Christmas cards to me over the last 5 years. Many of them had cash in them icon_eek.gif.In all,I found 5 cards, with a total of £115:eek:.Also found another envelope with £5 in.So it has all been potted :j.
What was abit sad is that 2 of the envelopes were from my partner's darling nan,who passed away a couple of years ago, aged nearly 90.I wondered if I should keep those particular notes "for posterity" in the cards (which I have kept). But potted them now.

    Morning All :)

Christmas is over and the money saving starts again! Potted 70p this morning.
Also, found a big tin I had saved last year full of 2p's, 1p's and 5p's, so added those too. I had completely forgotten about them!

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas? I went away to Kent for the week, and got home yesterday to a broken gas meter and a freezing house! EDF were promptly called at 11pm and it was fixed by 9am this morning :) Ahhh, that's better!

Have decided to put £50 a month into a separate bank account to save for next years Christmas, so starting that today too.

    Have a lovely Monday everyone!

Ive been so cold today and have a horrible cough! There is a bug going round locally and it's my turn ,I suppose!

Lovely frosty day here and walking Rosie, the sealed pot hound, in a frosty field is a joy. She dances and does 'zoomies ' around the trees and bushes, it's magical to watch.
    Caz

Hi Caz! There's all sorts going around at the moment. I've had a throat and chest infection but just can't shake off the awful cough. Yours maybe worse after having given up the cigs, it often happens like that when you're first hit with the first chills, colds and coughs after quitting. Never mind, tis far better to be free from fags!!! :D Ahh, bless Rosie, I can picture her well as our Lab does that all too well!

Excellent work in so many ways, Saver-upper!!!!! :T What a lot of cash stashed away.

Fingers crossed for you, Helen, it does sound as though it's clearing up for you. Potting slows down for us all at different times, but so long as you keep little bits going in when you can you're doing well and keeping your eye on the saving ball!

Very well done on your savings, WantToBeSE!!

What a BITTER evening and morning, folks! Keep warm.
Have a good Monday, everyone, and to you all - be careful of the snow and ice! :(
