10 x £2 coins in the £2 coin tin today, and after my run of FB sales ive had 2 no shows today
Been to our local animal rehoming place today just to have a look (as im being swayed to get a puppy) and there was a 10 month old c0cker spaniel in there  how did such a lovely and tbh expensive dog end up in an animal shelter
I would seriously have taken her home if her child age range hadn't been 14+
I don't think she'll be there long. Personally I really want a beagle
I just love them (there was a beagle cross in the shelter too but he was just too big for our home and I don't think it would have been fair on him to be cooped up in our house, he needed a farm or the like.
Oh decisions, decisions, DH said we shall wait until after our America trip, and if we are still as keen to have a dog then as we are now we will look at saving for one (and in the mean time we can keep going up the dog shelter . . . just incase . . . )
because people get bored with them, i do a lot of animal campaigning and always encourage people to adopt from a shelter, you save 2 lives when you rescue the one you take home and the one that gets that kennel, there are currently st bernards, newfoundlands, pugs, chihs, bengal cats in rescue, people get them as 'accessories' pets should be classed as family members, upto 30,000 animals a day get put down by shelters, due to lack of space, its heart breaking.
my sister got her puppy from rspca and the did everything, vacs, flea, worm, neutered, etc so can work out cheaper, she gave a £100 donation but seeing as the 1st vacs for a puppy can be upto £70 plus all the other stuff. it worth it.
considering starting a sealed pot, i want to get as much for a mortgage as possible.0 -
Still here and quietly potting, no longer getting the "chink" as it hits the bottom of my big sweet jar, now getting a clunk
it also sits in a kitchen cupboard behind the tins so I can't see how far up the jar it is - even though there is a picture on the front of it as well :rotfl:
Youngest son asked me to change some shrapnel he had into notes today so $18 went into the jar too..MFiT-T7 #17 (Jan 2025) £193k (Apr) £177k (July) £

Morning all.
tizzi13 - welcome to the thread and good luck.
dory22 - well worth considering. Please join, we'll encourage you to save and hopefully you'll get that mortgage deposit / fund as quick as possible.
I'm alarmed reading about the shelters and it's scary and disgusting the amount of animals put down. And that's per day!!
Please take care if you are in the "bad weather" areas.
We are lucky up here at the moment and still strappy tops and sandals weather.
Just kidding, but only a slight frost at the moment due to the clear skies. We'll get it though, we always do!!
If you are losing track of the days, today is Saturday.
Have a great weekend and be lucky. But, stay warm.

Morning Everyone....
Well today I am feeling a bit rubbish, but only physically....emotionally and mentally I think I'm okay....
I'm currently on Day 14 of my time of the month....which (I think) is why I'm feeling a bit rubbish....but, hopefully once I have the Operation at the Hospital I will start to feel better...I have got my pre-assessment on the 5th....so it should move pretty quickly after that....
Anyway....I shall keep going....
Last night I Potted £1.05....and today I have Potted a £2 coin...so, even though it's not much, I AM still Potting...and my Pot is filling up rather nicely....so that's good
Welcome to the Newbies....I hope you are ALL very happy with us and that you manage to save lots and lots!!
Am Working for most of today so I don't anticipate going out...and therefore I shouldn't have anything to Pot....I'm trying to be cautious and not Pot anything that I will need later on....so I still have £15 in my Purse but I think I'll need that for Food next Week so I'm not going to Pot it....0 -

tizzi13 - please note that instead of giving you the following No on the list I've given you No 018! I'm sure that member would have returned by now, and if she does, I'll give her a new one.
Thanks so much, ETO, a lovely welcome! I'm pleased things went relatively ok for you over Christmas though I know all too well that it had to have been tough for you.
You're doing marvellously, mcjordi, stay on top and you can't go wrong. BTW, I had my fingers crossed for you while typing that!scotmumof3 wrote: »Well jakes-mum was right DH was saving his coppers for a new pot he bought me AND it adds it up as you go along. SOOO proud of himself as he potted 38p in it for me
Tis ok, jakes-mum and scotmumof3, I must have put your 2 posts together and thought it was you, jakes-mum, who's DH bought the pot but skipped the bit where your DH, scotmumof3, had bought it for you! ...and No, I never touch anything but a weak shandy!Glad we sorted that.
Just the way to do your shopping, Mrs Cheshire.
Good to see you, chickadee, and well done on your SPC start! Well done also on doing such a lovely good turn! I'm pleased you managed to sort your smilies out with ETO's help. A very Happy New Year for you also.
Just be careful not to grumble too much, Hicksy, or he'll catch on.
Carry on with such great potting, Lynsey!! :j
Lucky you with the new pot, Iolanthe, all you need to do now is - fill it up!!!Hi, I'd like to sign up again for the spc. It's great fun and keeps the mind focused when out shopping. Thanks Sue for keeping it going.
Hi imapoet! You're ok and STILL in SPC and have the same No of 400, all you need to do now is keep on saving until the declaration date of 5th November!! Thanks for the kind words.
Come on dory22...don't be stand-offish, we're all lovely, so why not join us?
Oooh you lucky thing, Glitterbaby, a great find!!! :j
Enjoy a lovely meal with your DSD, Lynne, you've done quite well so far!
Aha...about time you made an appearance, mummytummy, and good to hear you're now getting the chunks in your pot. I bet the weather's beautiful down under.
Talking of losing track of the days, Lynsey, isn't it a struggle at times. At present I'm on permanent 'turkey' mode, stuck in Christmas in other words, reckon I will be until the turkey is gone. The most succulent one we've ever had though and that's a surprise!
Good for you with potting, Helen, and keep looking ahead with chin held high re the procedure etc! :kisses3:Enjoy your weekend, everyone, and to those of you in snow hit areas - do be so careful of the snow and ice!
Sue x
NB: SPC Savers: 5th November will be the date of 2015 opening day!
