Good morning all. Thank you Sue for my nice new shiny star. :T
I potted £1.12 last night after spending 3 hours at the A&E at our local hospital. 2 of our dogs got into a scrap and I, foolishly, tried to separate them. So, after a couple of stitches, a tetanus booster plus a course of antibiotics, I thought I needed a treat. Hence change for the pot.
A BIG welcome to all our new potters. Enjoy your saving, it's very addictive.
Hugs to all.S.P.C. 9 2016 No. 062 Banked £337.50

Morning Sue and fellow potters!
I must have missed so much news but I hope everyone is well. I haven't been doing much posting but I've had an eye problem which has made it very uncomfortable to look at the screen on the PC. I just wanted to let you know that I'm still here Sue and cheering from the sidelines. I have had to shell out for 2 pairs of new specs too so I've been saving for those and not potting as much as I would likeNeeds must....
(Modesty...ouch...hope you are better soon)
Not long to go now potters!
Have a great day everyone xSealed Pot Challenge #012

Thanks so much for your lovely words about my beloved, Ruth; he gave a wry grin and said "how does she know I'm wonderful?!"
Ah, I understand what you mean about your friend and the notes now; you're right, you're rubbish at explaining! :rotfl: Only joking with you cause I know I can. BTW, I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday, it must make a huge difference to you after only having been self employed. My DH did it the other way round after many years and found he preferred being employed as at least you can rely on a specific amount each week, holidays too! Keep the saving up Ruth!
You can tell him that I know he's wonderful as he manages to make you happy and is lovely enough to listen to you talk about people you don't *technically* know. If he wasn't so wonderful you wouldn't talk about him so much(although you may want to leave some of that out, don't want him getting big headed lol).
Being an employee is already a massive change for me. Even though i'm still doing the same job for the same company. Its less hours and slightly more pay (although i'm still trying work out exactly how much). I have been very lucky32b3in2013 wrote: »I suppose the new pottings should be on the next thread, maybe I'll sopen the new pot next week and give the money to my nephew to buy my sister a Christmas present. The eldest three are old enough to buy their own presents for their mum, but the youngest two are not. Hmmm, what to do??
Will they be able to get her a present without your help? maybe wait and see how much it will be, give them some and use the rest for a nice meal before you go away or when you come home and can't be bothered to cook xDreamerHelen wrote: »Well I'm all moved in to the new Flat....It was NOT easy to lift everything and I think I've strained my back a bit....but it's not too bad this morning....There are still about 4 or 5 Boxes to unpack but everything else is in and sorted....
I'm glad you're all settled in your new place. As Sue said, use it as a new start. Put the past behind you and start living each day as it comes.
Good luck with your weight loss. I am also trying to lose but failing miserably.
I got paid today and it was a fair bit more than i was expecting. I need to check my payslip to see what dates i have been paid from and to but i am so happy!! In celebration i have transferred £29.94 into my pot and transferred a good chunk into another account towards paying for my phone. This means i will be able to keep more of my sealed pot money for a rainy day
I also found £50 in an envelope from my sister so that has gone in the pot.
The wonderful OH gave me 3 £2 coins yesterday. I am considering saving them for next years pot though and having a dedicated £2 coin pot. Not sure yet. but i only have 8 DAYS to decide!!!
Good luck everyone. Not long to go now!!Sealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

YES I have passed, the daft test!!!
*dances around her room with her pet unicorn...
There you go see, Westie, what more needs to be said...and I thought jakes-mum was the worse, I'll need to rethink that one. Little wonder you get on so well with the Brownies! :rotfl:
Afternoon everyone, I hope the day's been a good one for you all and that the evening will be too - or even better. A few special {{{hugs}}} to all those who are poorly or a bit low, I hope you'll soon be feeling much, much better.Saver-upper wrote: »I had promised myself I would pot something every day for the last 2 weeks of the challenge.
Yesterday I forgot .
So tonight I remember to pot the tower of coins that has been sitting on my kitchen bench since I updated my budget and receipts on Sunday : £11.51 added to the pot, including 9x£1 coins :j.
Isn't this sooooooo exciting!!!!!!:j:j:j:j
Excellent potting, Saver-upper! :j You did yourself proud by potting that lovely lot. Keep at it. Are you at your In-laws yet? I'm thinking you are, but not certain, but if so I hope everything is going well for all of you.
Heellloooo there, skilly! :hello: It's so good to see you back again, though we miss your early morning visits. Don't you get forgetting us, please!
Ooooh, poor you, Modesty, though it sounds as though you were fortunate not to have come off worse with the 2 of them scrapping; trouble is they get so caught up with the scrap that they're not even aware of owt else. Thank goodness you decided on a treat to help aid recovery! :rotfl:
Ahhhhhh, so there you are at long last, little_sweetie!!!! Not that we've been waiting for you like someone waiting for the Postie to drop a letter through the door. I would do a bit of thisat you, but as you've had eye trouble I'll refrain and hope that whatever it is gets well soon for your sake. I have problems with the brightness of my laptop so I keep it turned down low to avoid too many problems, try it and see if it helps.
I bet forking out for 2 new pairs of specs added insult to injury too. I hope your G is ok, my T is also. Be sure to come back asap! :grinheart
Hello there, Helen, I hope your new beginning is going well and you've adapted nicely into your new home. Take care of yourself and be careful with that diabetes! :happyhearcrimson.addict wrote: »You can tell him that I know he's wonderful as he manages to make you happy and is lovely enough to listen to you talk about people you don't *technically* know. Ahhh, that was so sweet, Ruth, he does indeed keep me so very happy, he's a treasure and I'd be lost without him. :kisses2: I've just told him all you said and he almost blushed!! :blushing: ...and you weren't even here!!
I'm so pleased you're so happy with that first new pay packet, it's so good to be able to rely on a sum each week/month. Great news about the £50!!
Good to see you, Vicky!!! Not being precise, but 8 & 1/2 days actually!!!! :rotfl:
Not long at all to go now, folks!!!!!Enjoy the day, Potters, and bear in mind there are.......only 8 & 1/2  saving days to go!!!

Another £5 note, £5 in pound coins and a little silver deposited. DH even contributed a couple of pounds of this. After thinking it was daft to do this challenge before Christmas he's now decided that the money may come in handy in aiding him to have a week off with the kids at Christmas (self-employed so no holiday pay)
He's got a good point but I really feel like saying I told you so (I won't)
It's very exciting following all the posts. Will continue potting like mad until the 5th (and after but probably not as madly)
Have a good evening,
SP x0 -
Thanks Crimson hun.....I am using it as a brand new Start in various different ways - Weight, Money, Work.....It feels good

It wouldn't let me press Return for some reason....Soooooooo annoying!!
Anyway....Sue hun...thank you for your lovely Words....I really appreciate them....I am being very careful with what I eat and it feels good not to feel sick after stuffing my face (which is what I used to do!!)....
Nothing else to Report when it comes to Potting but should have a little to Pot tomorrow....xXx0 -
