Evening
I have no idea what an overlocker is but I really want one now too
I have just booked my christmas shopping trip. I might have to empty my pot a day or two early to make sure I have enough time to change it to $$$. I am V. excitied. Is that allowed Sue?
In other news, you know that film 'Catch me if you can'? where Leonardo D'caprio played Frank Abignale? well I met the real Frank Abignale todayhe is amazing. He works for the FBI, advising them on fraud. He said some things which had a lot of members of the audience with tears in their eyes. Not in the slightest related to Identity fraud, which he was there to talk about, just something which put his past crimes into context.
I haven't potted anything today. I only had a note so I paid with my card as I was using a self service till.

Thank you for my number Sue, I've put it in my signature, can't wait for November 5th!
I want an overlocker too - I made a skirt with stretchy fabric and my sewing machine couldn't cope so I had to sew it by hand - 3 times as I kept doing it wrong! I've never used one though, are they hard to use?0 -
I can't sew, I have the remarkable ability to break needles and send them flying
I do crochet though and most of my friends have a blanket in their teams colours as they make excellent Christmas presents.
On a potting note I am getting overly excited when I manage to pot a noteNumber 4950 -
Morning Everyone
I'm sorry that I haven't been around for the last few days.....I've not been at all well.....Still not sure what it was, maybe a Virus or something.....but it left me feeling sick and dizzy....so I upped my Meds for my Balance Disorder (which are basically like Travel Sickness Pills) and it seems to have restored order....hopefully it stays that way!!
I went to the Doctor's yesterday and she wants to do a complete MOT on me to make sure all is well with me.....So I'm off to do huge amounts of Blood Tests tomorrow.....but that's fine as I don't worry about needles and things like that....The only annoying thing is that I have to Fast for it...which is annoying, not the food thing but not being able to drink as I get a very dry mouth when I'm working....so we shall see how that works out!!
Anyway.....I managed to Pot about 35p yesterday....Not a lot but every little bit helps as they say
Sue....hope your OH feels much better soon and recovers well....It's horrible seeing someone we love in pain....
Speak to you all later in the Week xXx0 -
Hi to all SPCers! I'm hoping you'll all enjoy a good Wednesday!
If not then here's hoping tomorrow will be a better one. If any of you are in need of a hug then here are special {{{Hugs}}} just for you, and take good care of yourselves.
Not to worry, Westie, it may have been because I mentioned last week that DH had been given the option of the Labrum repair or having a replacement, but our Dr advised him not to go for the replacement as he'd probably need another later on in life, but as he has arthritis in it anyway, I'm wishing he'd had it anyway. Still, there we go. He's a little better today and he now has Omeprazole to have in the morning to help with the nausea so he's a little better today. We'll know more in 6 weeks time as the Consultant took photos of the entire area so time will tell. Yes, you had mentioned the heat treatment and that does help. Thanks Westie, your help is much appreciated.
Many thanks, scotmumof3, hopefully he's slowly getting there. Good savings!stormpassing wrote:£7 potted today. Money left over in my purse that didn't already have a job so in it went
That's the way to save really well, stormpassing, keep that up and you'll be so happy with yourself in November of each year!
I'd never heard of an overlocker until seeing your post, jakes-mum, but having a look at some reviews, they look amazing! I've got a sewing machine, but don't use it a great deal, but who knows - I could be tempted to try one of these - one day! Have fun and enjoy yours...as if you wouldn't.Kerry_Woman wrote:Have banked £35 into my savings account. Have updated my signature.
That's just fantastic, Kerry!! You're doing marvelously so far! :T32b3in2013 wrote:I have just booked my christmas shopping trip. I might have to empty my pot a day or two early to make sure I have enough time to change it to $$$. I am V. excitied. Is that allowed Sue?

Of course it is, 32b3, you be sure to get ready to have a wonderful time. BTW, where is it you're going in the US? The real Frank Abignale sounds so very interesting, intriguing too from the reactions of the audience.TheDapster wrote:Thank you for my number Sue, I've put it in my signature, can't wait for November 5th!

Many thanks for that, TheDapster, as you can imagine Nov 5th will be a time of great excitement. :j So, it looks like we're all being caught up with the overlockers. From what I've seen in the reviews on Am!zon they should tackle something like your skirt no problem. How about taking a look on YouTube HERE for someone showing how they really work, I always find that the best reviews of all. Best of luck.
I wouldn't want to be near you when you were sewing, TheCatsandDogsMother, but I love crocheting too and the thoughts of the item growing faster than in knitting (which I'm not great at) always appeals. What a brilliant idea to make your footie friends team colour gifts, perfect! :j
Ah, there you are, Helen! Thank you so much for your kind words re my DH, he's getting there thanks. I was concerned that maybe your Mum was poorly again, I do hope she's much better now. So sorry to hear you've been rough, but I'm pleased to know you're feeling better now. All the best with your MOT, is it not possible to have tiny sips of water during your drought period?
Our neighbour, bless her, got me some milk this morning and I put the £3.20 change in the pot...along with a £10er that was due! I feel more normal now...no remarks from you lot either to that bit!! :mad:Enjoy the rest of your day, everyone, and keep those pots atinkling!
Sue xx

Evening
I'm going to New York Sue. Just for a couple of days but enough time to spend too much money. I'll probably open my tin the weekend before so I can pay the money into the bank and then pay for the dollars with my card. Well done on the huge £13.20 pottings
£3.20 potted tonight.

I am way way over excited today as DH bought me an overlocker! :j :j and it arrived TODAY!! its so shiny and new and pretty, I just want to sit and look at it
I've wanted one for ages as a sewing machine just doesn't finish certain items in the way an overlocker does, and this one had a bonus kit with it of 12 mahoosive rolls of thread in different colours, scissors and other very exciting things that I don't really know what they do
so DH bought it for me
My mummy recently bought an overlocker. I'm going to make myself some pants and some breast pads for the lady i got for secret santaso excited to use it

Can you not drink any water at all? how long is it for? I'd never cope. I'm constantly drinking, even through the night and if someone were to say to me i couldn't i think i'd convince myself i was dying of thirst!!
I am doing a lot better with my saving at the minute but Wednesday 14th is my last weekly pay before i start my new job being paid monthly. Not sure how i'll manage to cope for the first few months but we'll see.
I'm so sorry everyone and their husbands seem to be in pain at the moment. I hope you all get better soon. **Big Hugs**
A few £2 coins and some change potted. Had a pleasant surprise in finding £35 in my car when i started to clear it out so i will pot that before it goes to be cleanedSealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

Afternoon Everyone
Sue and Crimson....I think I would have been allowed little sips of Water but I managed anyway.....Most people think they have to fast for 12 hours but I asked at my Blood Test Centre and they said that as long as it's for about 8-9 hours then it's fine....So I didn't eat after 8pm last night but still carried on drinking Soft Drinks until just before 11pm....
Then I went for the Tests this morning...Now, to be fair I'm not the easiest to get blood out of but the Lady that was doing it was a bit rubbish and had to poke around a bit to get it done...but it's done now so I can't complain....
AND I managed to Pot 90p when I got home....I think that's the most I've Potted in one go for AGES!!! So I'm really pleased with that
I hope everyone is feeling well today and happy and healthy....And I'll Chat to you all over the Weekend...xXx0 -
Have potted 8p.
Sue - Thanks regarding my savings. The tax rebate boosted my savings this year. Don't think I will be getting one next year due to the amount of temp work I have been getting this year. At least I am saving and it is going towards my bigger goal I want to achieve.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130
