Hello again Potters! I hope you're all well, but for those who might not be or who maybe a little low of under the weather for any reason, here are special {{{Hugs}}} and I hope that you'll soon be feeling a whole lot better, or that life picks up for you. There's little over 6 weeks to go now so save..save..save as hard as you're able!!! :j
I'm glad you already know about 7Dayshop etc, jakes-mum. What you've instructed your DH to do with the Giving Tree should anything happen to you is so sweet. Still, let's hope you'll always be doing it YOURSELF!!! Anything else is unthinkable..even for us lot here!! :grinheartcrimson.addict wrote: »I would love to donate to a giving tree. Can anyone help with finding one in my area?
Also, i ordered the new iPhone........ It was a big expense but won't be here for 4 weeks so i'm trying in the mean time to save hard so that it doesn't all have to come from my pot. It does mean i will have to raid the pot a little though so i may have to count up early and add to it before November.
I am still potting and have almost £200 in my holding pot. I'm so excited for november!!!!
Hiya Ruth! It's great to see you. All the best with your iPhone, and if you take cash from your pot then don't forget to pop the amount on your siggy. I know, the words Grandmother and sucking eggs come to mind where you're concerned, but.....! Ah, how the excitement for November builds!!!!Your Giving Tree web site is HERE I've found our local one too, so I'm really chuffed about that!!
I haven't sewn for several years, but love it. Still, it sounds as though jakes-mum's given you plenty of info so you'll be ok. A gold star for the help, jakes-mum. Thanks. :staradmin
Great potting, 32b3! Re the Giving Tree, it was so poignant to hear that Scotland Yard cover the ones that don't get covered, fabulous news!! :j It's fantastic that Christmas for us all won't begin until we've done the best that we can for others! :kisses: I've found our Taunton one and I'm so ecstatic!!!!! :T Re your cafe short-changing you...that's disgraceful - time to keep an extra wandering eye on their floors to regain your loss! :idea:Dragon_Lily wrote: »Sorry I'm guilty of being AWOL. I've been away alot the last few months. Also, I've never been that good at doing online chat. Even my RL friends know to ring me rather than msg or FB me.I'm still quietly potting though and counting down the weeks til pot opening time!!
Don't you worry, Dragon Lily, you come on now and again which is good. It's just great to have a few names daily or weekly to keep the thread somewhere near the top, as much to remind other members to talk to us as anything else, also to remind them of the earlier declaration date this year too. You never need to write a lot, just your amount saved is great as we really don't do epistles - we leave those to jakes-mum!! :rotfl:
Oooh, your naughty electric counting piggy bank, moonbeam, shocking behaviour especially at this time of year!Keep up the great work.
That a girl, Chutney, well saved!Just a quick check in again. My life seems to be getting more hectic than ever. I've got half a dozen Christmas pressies now, so it's going well. Need to get my shopping done by mid October, so I can start on my parents gift shopping.
I may have to break my pot a couple of weeks early. Mr Owlet & I are away for Christmas - have rented a cottage for some R&R. I might need my pot to contribute to the cost, which has to be paid by the end of October.
It's all coming round fast now. £3 for me this week :-)
Slow down there, Owlet, you'll wear yourself to a frazzle! That's fine about the early opening, sounds like you'll be in need of some R and R by then. All the best with the pressies and good saving.
All best wishes from us ALL to you and your DH, Modesty, do take great care of yourselves.
Hi there Kerry! Good saving for you too.
Nothing for me until tomorrow, but we're off to the beach for a lovely walk along the shore on the wet sand, dipping in and out of the sea (paddling, nowt else at this time of year!) then walking back in the soft, warm sand! Utter bliss! :grinheart:heartpuls:happyhear Yes, I'm a kiddie at heart and love it!!!! Then we'll do the shopping on the way back - AND...money, money, money!! :rotfl:Have a REALLY LOVELY WEEKEND, folks, and remember those pots.....!!

Thanks Sue-UU
I was feeling a little guilty for not posting very much but sometimes real life takes over. I emptied the gold from my purse today, so I've potted £6.50. I think I've potted over £10 this week. Feeling really motivated now to keep potting as the deadline draws near. I even got some money bags from the Halifax today in readiness
Have a lovely weekend everyone!:staradmin Star from Sue-UU

Helloooooooooooooooooo Potterssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!
Only 7 Weeks to gooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
Ahh Sue, you got no worries about me disappearing off any time soon as I keep telling the grumpy one i'm determined to outlive him just so I can finally spend some of our money on me! :rotfl: He just snorts at me and says 'pfft, they'll be wrapping you in all them £10 notes and burying you with them, without me you'll have no furniture but a mattress as you'll fleabay it all, you'll only keep the mattress so you can stuff all our cash in it!' :rotfl:
Have just finished another peg bag pinny and oooooo do my fingers hurt! ruddy straps! had to turn them inside out with my fingers as I couldn't find any of my skewers and then one bloomin split the seam when I was 3/4 turned so I had to turn it out again, resew and re-turn againthey were already hurting from my christmas bauble attempt of yesterday where I MAY have forgotten to cut the polystyrene balls with a knife before pushing the fabric in with a darning needle so was basically forcing material into a hard surface with a very small bit of metal via my fingers . . . It didn't look good
Anyway, I had a lovely 10 x £2 coins in the pot last night as I had a bit more quidco confirmed this weekstill got £65 to confirm! wish it would hurry up, its only got 7 WEEKS TO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Hi Sue, I am still here although real life is so manic lately that I can't pop in as often as I used to
I am, however, still potting away. I can't believe pot opening day is just weeks away!
I have started my Christmas gift shopping and have bought 4 bargains alreadyand the idea of the Giving Tree is wonderful. I will see if I can find one in our area.
Hope everyone is ok xSealed Pot Challenge #012

Still here, potting away nicely. I went with DD2 and her DH to her 20 week scan, it's the first time I've ever seen one, I was in tears to see grandchild number 3, it seemed to be waving so I introduced myself! Wonderful experience. They're still determined the don't want to know the sex until it's born.
Our DGDs are thrilled to bits about having a baby in the family and are busy organising a baby shower for her (with a little help from Granny!) We've only had a few days away this summer, my knees are completely kn"%^&*red so I can't walk very far these days.
Like a lot of others I can't believe it's only 6 weeks to opening day.Sealed Pot Challenge member 28

Great news ModestyB. It used to be that people spent ages in hospital recovering from major operations such as your hubby's but now the recovery time is much shorter. Make sure he looks after himself though x
Where is Helen?
