Hi Everyone
Good news about Halifax accepting all the bags. I bank with them. I was a little concerned that I might be making several trips in Nov! Just bought another pot, exactly the same ready for 6th Nov :rotfl:

Thanks for the welcome - I don't know how to add a signature but will have a look.
Maybe I should do this one for a Christmas shopping pot then start again for a holiday pot - reckon it would be fun to have a grand count up before a holiday and go to swap it all for euros!
I've put a couple of £2 coins in and any 20p's plus all the £1 coins that were in my purse so about £12 in there so far I reckon.
All the smaller than 10p coins go in my money bags that I take to the bank or give to a friends charity fundraising.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

£4.46 potted today :j
Good news about Halifax and Bank of Scotland accepting coins, but all my potting money is destined to be banked in a building society ISA. Are building societies more accepting of coinage or will one of those two banks be happy to change up my coins into notes even though I don't bank with them?
alisont, to add a signature you need to scroll to the top of the screen. Above the thread title ("Sealed Pot Challenge" ~ 8) is a green header with options. On the third of the left is "User CP". Click on that and on the left of the screen is your Control Panel. Under "Settings and Options" there's an option for "Edit Signature". I hope that helps, and if you have any further questions, just ask
jakes-mum, that's a really good idea about your son potting money if he misbehaves. Like you said, if he improves, he gets the benefit of the money so it should hopefully motivate him. I hope that pot stays empty tooSPC #0800 -

I'm not actually sure if they will take change from non-customers. I suppose if the worst came to the worst, you could always open a savings account with Halifax or BoS, get the internet banking, pay in your bags and then transfer over. I know it's a bit more hassle but at least you would be guaranteed to get the bags paid in. Just a thought.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

Hi folks, have banked that £40 and put the new total of £420 in my siggy. Very :j with that!
Thanks for the heads-up about Halifax taking more than 5 bags, I wish they'd told me! Never mind eh, the money's all safely in the bank now and my new pot sounds very empty so that'll spur me on to pot more
Cheers

you cant exchange coins into notes if you dont hold an account with that bank, so go to the bank where you hold an account, either savings or current...I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards.
