    Hi folks
Have counted up my shrapnel tin as it was full! Have banked £60 today and have another £40 to bank tomorrow - Halifax only take 5 bags at a time.
Pot now re-sealed and christened with a £2 coin :D
Hugs all round if you need them x

Halifax dont have a coin limit no longer you can take in as many bags as you like, procedures have changed your branch may not be aware, just say another branch said there was no limit now...

This is true for Bank of Scotland also. They told me as long as I take them to the business banking counter I can pay in as many bags as I like. Yesterday I took in £300 in £1 coins (bagged, obviously) and they took them all (15 bags).

Nothing to pot today but the £5 is still intact :)

Good afternoon everone! I hope you all had a really lovely weekend and enjoyed the sun. Have a good week. :D Take great care please, everyone, keep as safe and as healthy as is possible. Love and {{{hugs}}} to all those who are poorly or who aren't on top of their game right now, I hope it won't be long before you are.

I can understand your jumper on...jumper off days, scotmumof3, there's no relying on temperatures for sure so keep it with you - I am! So sorry to miss you were going on holiday, but I hope you have a wonderful time and benefit from it. :j
Decided there were getting to be a few notes in there and I wouldn't just leave that amount kicking round the house building up to November but will open the pot only, I stress only (!) To put the cash in my ISA account. I'm saving to take my kids away for a big birthday I'm having soon. I paid in £105 from the pot. Lovely. At least one of my children has put a coin in for a thanks for a lift gesture. This idea of mine to encourage them to put a coin in the pot for a mums taxi ride may catch on!

A great idea in selling what you no longer need, Pollygarter, and it's perfectly ok to put notes in your ISA as you've done, BUT...please make a note of what you take out so you can include it in your declaration on the big day! Most folk pop the amount banked on their signatures. It sounds as though you have a brilliant goal ahead! :j

got £195 so far. it's not sealed but any spare money goes in it.

Hi dory22, I can't find you on our list of members so I'm wondering if you thought you'd joined but forgot or something similar. It doesn't matter at all though as, if you still wish to join us, then please pop it in your next post and we will officially welcome you! Anyone is welcome here..in our saving family! :D I'll PM you just in case you don't see this.

Be sure to have a super holiday in Cornwall, Dragon Lily, keep a look out for roadkill though I doubt you'll find any as they're a bit like the Scots - no offence to anyone of either breeds here on SPC of course as you're different...you're family so you're normal!!! :rotfl:We are aren't we??!

Sorry I've been absent.....just took some time for myself to get myself into a better headspace and I think I'm finally there....I feel in a more peaceful place today....Long may it continue!! :)

Never mind, Helen, you're in the right place as a lot of us here aren't in the right head space!! :rotfl: Completely serious though, I'm so chuffed to know you're sorting yourself out and feeling a lot better as a result. Stay exercised, keep happy and....keep that fantastic saving up!!! :grinheart

Apologies jakes-mum, I could have sworn it was your DD who'd gone away for the first time, though I know what you mean, it never gets easier. Ahhh, poor Jake - though I guess it's as good a way as any to encourage him to behave well. Good luck with it being empty.

I desperately want to open the £2 and £1 tins as I still haven't found my rings and wondered if they ended up in there (although still convinced the money thief took them). Grrrr.

Good luck in finding the rings amongst your cash, Hicksy, but......! At least you're no longer there for them to take your things. :p to em

Ah..god to see you, siju, a lovely lot of cash too. Very well done! :T

.......oooooooooh, not long to wait now, Lynsey, the tension mounts and bets are on as to when it will be! :j:j:j:j:j:j:j

Very well done, Rosy, and thanks for sigging it so to speak.

Aha, I reckon they've heard of us and are vieing for our custom Westie!!!! They'll probably give us a £200 for joining sum - then again. :(

Good for you, NotNormal, that's a terrific sum!!!! :T BTW, my DH said "Get on and drink that tea" I said hang on a minute I'm talking to NotNormal. Quick as a flash his retort was "So am I!" :(

Wow GAP, they too are vieing for the custom of SPC members!!!!! :j

Don't forget, everyone, Halifax AND Bank of Scotland are taking ALL our savings at one time so no more of the several trips to change cash in November!!!!!!!

Have a lovely Tuesday, Potters! Don't stop filling those pots! :j

NB: SPC Savers: 5th November will be the new 2015 opening date!

No no, you were right Sue-UU, it was DD's first trip away, was just saying i'll still be like this when its her 30th trip as I am with DS who has been going on school/cadet trips for 6 years now! He's 0ff on summer camp with the cadets again for 10 days in a few months time, last time he came home I almost knocked DH over pushing him out the way to get to my lad :o

Hate to think what i'll be like when they move out  will probably be ringing them everyday or something, all their uni mates will be calling me 'Stalker Mum' or similar :o :rotfl:

I must say its the first time ive ever wanted a tin to not rattle! It really is a last resort in a long loooooooooooooooong battle, hopefully it will curb the worst of the behaviour and help him understand just how often he is getting in trouble. I'm kind of seeing it as the same as when DH had to pot his ciggie money, he had no idea how much he smoked until it was laid out infront of him in £1 coins.

I have a teeny tiny bit of change today as DH has completely fleeced me this weekend  he somehow managed to convince me to buy him a motorbike , then he needed a jacket as we sold his old one when he sold the last bike, then he 'needed' a new helmet because his old one "didn't match the bike", plus he's got about £1k of ideas for customising it  :rotfl: He's paying for the customising himself! i'm having no part in that :rotfl:

Will dig out my teeny bit of change after i've been to the post office as may have a bit more change from there to go with it :D

I've started a sealed pot challenge - never done one before but it sounded good reading about it - went to home bargains and got one for 79p with cute dogs on.

Am going to save all my £1/£2 coins plus 50p's and 20p's think I'll go for a year - have written the date started on the bottom of the tin. Unless I need change for the bus all my change can go in there.

I'd like to go on holiday to Barcelona next summer so this is a good way to save and will be fun to see what amount I can manage in a year - or if full I will do 2 and open the first at Christmas.

I hate small change filling up my purse so already save 1p, 2p and 5p's in money bags but might start a tin for those too.

Just read the main post - so I will open my tin on 5th November - that will be 6 months of savings then I can start a new one. That way I'm joining in here which sounds fun:)

If that's ok to join in now - if not ill keep this one for12 months and then start in with the next challenge here.

It will be either tomorrow or Thursday Sue. Probably tomorrow.

Potted 3 x £1 coins, so only £3 needed now.
