Morning all.
10yearstoclear - welcome and it's never too late to join. Have a look at page one - some good tips there and Sue will be along soon to allocate you your number (pop that into your sig). Good luck with those savings and getting Xmas for "free".
NotNormal - well done to your little one. Love hearing things like that.
I potted 5 x £1 coins and 4 x £2 coins = £13. That includes £10 I changed and added due to having a frugal February. Only just short of £300 and if I was that obsessive, I could get that today!!
Next week will do.
Have a great weekend, the weather is kind here. Hope you are as lucky or even luckier.

I want to get my overdraft paid and closed this year so I'm hoping to stack up £500 by Christmas to cover it.
It's never too late to join us, 10yearstoclear. A very warm welcome to you! It's lovely to have you with us. :grinheart Have fun saving and enjoy the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on the 2nd post of page 1. Please read through post 1as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We always empty our pots and declare our savings in November, please make a note of this year's date: 5th Nov.

10yearstoclear - please note that instead of giving you the following No on the list I've given you No 110 I'm sure that member would have returned by now, but if she does, she can have a new one.Good luck with that holiday!
A gold star to you for a lovely welcome, Kirsty, and thanks. :staradmin
Good Morning, everyone, I hope you've all had a good week and have saved well too. For all those not be feeling well or are under the weather in any other way, take great care and be patient and here's hoping you'll all will be well soon. Here are special {{{hugs}}} to hopefully help you though. Take care, all Potters, save cash whenever you're able, but don't worry if you can't!crimson.addict wrote:Mackerel salad for dinner tonight...... I'd rather just curl up with a Chinese
Oh, would you indeed, you naughty girl you, Ruth!!! You be careful your OH doesn't see you both - or trip over the pair of you!! There's always a limit to speaking your thoughts you know.
Come on, Ruth, pull your socks up and forge ahead, especially as it looks as though your OH is urging you.
I tried hard to ignore your post about the chocolate, Rosy, but...failed! I hope you enjoyed every suck or chomp.
Yes, I was very proud of you, Lizzie, why give the cash to someone who doesn't need it when you can save it for YOU!! :jscotmumof3 wrote:Thanks so much sue we have to wait for the results of the biopsy but the surgeon thinks it may be stage 1 larynx cancer. We are a bit shell shocked to say the least. He is only 49 and apart from asthma is really healthy. Never mind we are staying positive and hopefully the results will be in quickly and we can move on from there. Thanks for thinking of us
On a more positive note £1.01 potted for me today
I was so sorry to hear your Dr's thoughts, scotmumof3, but lets hope that's all they turn out to be, but that IF he's right, it will be the stage 1 as there will be a lot to be said for that alone. I shan't stop thinking about you both, sending up prayers for you also. Stay strong and positive!
You keep going with that positivity, Helen, and I hope the pain is soon a thing of the past!! Just seen your latest post - that's tremendous news and all that cash is now totally safe! VERY well done !!!! :j
You're welcome, AlwaysHappy, you earned it anyway!little_sweetie wrote:I'm afraid life has been getting in the way of posting again. Poor DD is poorly again and I'm sure the stress of knowing they will both be made redundant next month isn't helping. Hi, Sue-uu hope you are all well x
It's so good to see you again, little_sweetie, though I'm so sorry to hear your DD's poorly again, it does sound as though stress could well be doing it though. I know what you mean about the money they're needing and being unable to help, but love, comfort and support go a long way in helping them all feel a little better about it.All the very best to them both for good jobs coming along.
Not too bad here thanks, though not the best of weeks, not the worst either, so counting those blessings! DD & SIL have gone away for a long weekend to the sea so we're caring for the little and larger ones.
Thanks so much for putting the D!Z info on. Lynsey, no good to me though as have to use the powder as the liquid messes the working of the machine.joee wrote:I am sorry that I have been AWOL for such a long time, I have been quite ill the last few weeks but hopefully I am on the mend now!
It has been a bit tight this month as I have been saving a lot to make an extra payment to be debt free a month early and so that I am debt free before my birthday in May!
Ah, it's good to see you back, Lucy! I really do hope you're feeling so very much better, and soon!Don't worry about things being a bit tight pot wise, if it helps you get debt-free then so be it, and I'll be absolutely chuffed to bits for you!
Kerry_Woman wrote:Have banked £51 into my savings account today. Signature has been updated.
Also have potted £3.52.
What more can I say than - excellent potting, Kerry, banking too!!! Thanks so much for adding it to your siggy.Miami wrote:Fab news -- my parents are very impressed with how much I've saved in the last three months since I started work (£245 in pot, £300 in bank -- now gone towards car, £300ish for brand new freezer and washing machine back in the Boxing Day sales with 5 year cover) and have informed me today that they will be splitting the cost of my car insurance and my mum will be paying my car tax, just for the first year, to help me continue with my savings and build up an emergency fund. So my £245 potting money will be put into an ISA instead of being used for tax/insurance :j
Celebrated by buying a new pot (I know I was supposed to do that last week, but I couldn't justify spending £3.60 on bus fare to buy a 99p pot :rotfl:) which says, "One day, I'm going to be a millionaire" Don't know about a million, but you know what they say: Aim for the moon -- even if you miss, you'll be among the stars
Planning on starting a debt free diary soon, must try to find more opportunities to fill my pot
Sue-UU, could you please update my number (#080) in the second post to include a goal of £1,500, if that's not too much trouble? Thank you! :A
You're doing wonderfully, Miami, and what a great impression you've made on your Mum & Dad!! It's so sweet of them to help you in such a thoughtful way to help you focus on saving, bless em! The highlighted sentence is the way to live your financial life, justify all the little spends - and most certainly the big bu**ers!
BTW. Your request has been fulfilled and you now have your Target up, I do so hope you reach it.
Well done in budgeting so well, cattysmum, great savings now potted as a result.
Good work, Hoipolloi, it's always good to get such a sum in one go.
Your 4yr old friend sounds a canny little lady, NotNormal, his words remind me of scores and scores of folk here! :rotfl:All the best if you go ahead with the blog.
Go ahead with seeking out ways to sell your crafts, Dragon Lily. You don't gain if you don't try!I hope you soon feel so much better.
A whole £13 in the pot for this week!
Fantastic saving EVERYONE, keep it up!!!!!Have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND, SPCers! :j Stay safe, healthy and.....filling them pots!

Whoop woop, £13 Sue, well done
I am trying a new tactic this month (well March). I am going to pay for everything with my bank card and see whether it makes me spend less. I will only try it for a month, and then see if I can do a month of only using cash
It will mean less change to pot, but might leave me with much more in my bank account at the end of March..... possibly!! I will have change to pot on Saturdays though as I will buy my lottery tickets with cash.
I will still pop in to see how you are all getting on and will pot when I can
