Spent 6 of my lovely pound coins at the weekend due to taking my Mum out and paying for parking. I was happy to go out with her but I wish things didn't always incur additional expenditure like this. Will plan better in future. Wondering if i should take a lump sum out of my account for expenditure and see if I can save some from that. I normally only use cards.

  • So the anticipation got the better of me as my tin was nearly full and wanted to see how much I'd collected in past month and a half I've been potting, and the grand total is: £292.19 :D

I'm going to carry on potting obviously as I'm no where near my goal but im so surprised at how much I've already saved! And I haven't even missed the change :)!

Thank you so much for this forum, I'm the type of person who spends every last penny they have but now I know I'm one step closer to my holiday :D x

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

brokeapproaching30 - welcome and good luck with your savings. Great username, but hope you can change it to wealthyapproaching40.

Helen - great savings this year and you are well in front.

Busylizzie94 - great potting there also.

lynnejk - keep that chin up, we all have days like that and they aren't nice!!

4 x £1 coins potted today and one of those was a "roadkill" - well a £1 coin found in B&Q!!

This will be a quiet week potting wise, but I'll get to that £300 soon.
I might change another tenner on Saturday (and pot) as this will also be a very low grocery spend week.

Well done to all the potters for keeping edging towards your goals :)

My BIL owed us money which I totally forgot about and he gave us it tonight! A bit of it was in change so I put all that plus some coins in my purse into my tin tonight... £17!!

I could put more in as I still have about £3 in my purse and my husband has about £6/7 in his wallet but don't want to leave us without cash.

If that's still in my purse by Friday then I'll pot it.

  • hi so I have been away for a week or so but have still been potting in fact I have been very good probably potted near £60.
2016 was both financially and emotionally. 2017 will be our year.
  • Good morning everybody :)

I've decided to put my money in two separate tins, one for £1/£2 and open them both when full, not 3/4 full like last night haha. And one for anything under £1. Then I'll have even a bigger amount of money waiting for me in a couple of months!
